Last February I travelled to Nepal to do some volunteer work in an orphange.
Nepal is an amazing country, full of wonderful, kind-hearted people, scenic landscapes, and diverse wildlife.
Forever I will hold a special place in my heart for Nepal and the people I met there (including my wonderful, beautiful girlfriend).
These photos provide a very brief glimpse of amazing Nepal.
The dusty, bustling streets of Kathmandu,
Stunning architecture of Buddhist and Hindu temples,
Kind, helpful Nepali people, who are by far the highlight of Nepal,
Some fascinating animals (though I missed the tiger),
And the majesty of the himalayas.
Unproductive Trishaw driver in Thamel enjoying the brief sunshine.
These two local girls were very helpful in bartering with the street traders. They would tell us the 'real' prices of products, until they were chased off by a rarely seen 'angry' Nepali man.
Bodnath Stupa - A buddhist temple in Kathmandu.
Bell tower in Patan, one of the three royal cities in the Kathmandu Valley.
Colourful rowboats in Phewa Lake, Pokhara.
Deserted row boat in Phewa Lake, Pokhara.
Paragliding in the himalayas - Sensational!
World Peace Pagoda, It was rather peaceful, though the hike up the hill was not so much. But the panoramic view of the Himalayas makes it worth the walk.
Nepali woman tending her garden.
Indian elephant in Chitwan Jungle.
Extremely endangered White Rhino in Chitwan Jungle.
Horse drawn buggy in Bharatpur.
Omry, one of the boys in the orphanage.
Amrit, one of the girls in the orphanage.
Samba deer grazing in the farmlands of Lumbini (birthplace of the Buddha).
Foothills of the Himalayas.
Mt Everest (the furthest peak).
Some very strange, funny old men at the Pashupatinath cremation temple.
