Places, Which Makes You to Enjoy Spain to The Full
Are you planning a trip to Spain and haven't chosen, what places to visit? This is not surprising, because the sights of Spain are as multifaceted as the country itself. In this article, we are going to tell you about the most fascinating sights which you must see in the country. Every tourist has his own list of favourite places, we will talk about ours.
1. Sagrada Família–the Main Symbol of Barcelona
This temple is the first attraction that every local and tourist will advise you to visit in Spain. Despite the possible long lines, you should definitely look at the masterpiece of architecture from the inside.
And here are a few reasons to do it:
- At least in deference to Antoni Gaudi, the greatest Catalan architect. Many of his buildings may seem odd, but they definitely captivate every traveller in Barcelona. To be sure, Barcelona is generally associated with Gaudi in everyone's mind.
- Nowhere else in the world you can see a building that has been erected for 120 years with minor interruptions. Just imagine, the construction of the cathedral lasts more than a century! We advise you to hurry because the completion of construction is planned for 2026.
- Do you know that the main Gaudi's idea about this basilica was to create a redemptive temple? So its construction is financed only by donations.
- Many of Gaudi's blueprints and sketches were destroyed by the anarchists during the Spanish Civil War, which made the completion of the basilica even more difficult.
Will the builders finish the construction of Sagrada Familia by 2026?
2. Game of Thrones' Fans Must Travel to Peniscola When They Visit Spain
Peniscola is a resort town on the Mediterranean coast. "So why is this small town in your top places in Spain," you ask. The answer is simple–because every self–respecting fan of the Game of Thrones series is simply obligated to visit the location of the series. We are sure that among you there are many fans of the series and the fantasy novels of George Martin.
More precisely, the castle, built by the Knights Templar in the fourteenth century, is located in Peniscola on a crag overlooking the Mediterranean sea. The sixth season of the TV series was filmed partially on the territory of this castle.
We would like to warn you that when visiting the coastal areas of Spain (including Peniscola), you should always be ready for a sudden change of the weather. If there is not a cloud in the sky, then it is likely that in half an hour an almost hurricane wind will rise and heavy downpour will pass. And you will be very lucky to find yourself indoors at this moment.
3. PortAventura Park For Extreme Adventures Fans And Not Only
PortAventura Park is a huge theme park located near Salou. It's divided into 5 areas, based on civilizations. This park can be called the most family-friendly place to visit in Spain. It will appeal to both children and adults.
It is the most convenient to extend the visit to the park for several days because it is almost impossible to run around all the zones in one day. There will definitely not be a problem with finding a room. The neighbouring city is filled with hotels for every taste and budget.
Do not be mean about the purchasing of express pass. It is difficult to enjoy a walk in a theme park when you have to stand in line to get to each attraction for more than an hour.
There are 43 rides in PortAventura Park. But the most extreme roller coaster is Shambhala. It has the longest drop and 76 meters in height. Here you are fastened in a special way so that only the lower part of your body is fixed. It seems that soon you will fly out of the seat. Thus, you get even more acute sensations.

A variety of chocolate bars of various types and chocolate sweets is enormous. And of course, you can buy here an amazing drink - hot chocolate, which is so natural that it becomes thicker just in a few minutes. So do not miss the moment to drink it!
Speaking about food in Spain, we would like to especially note the delicious doughnuts. Spanish bakers create real masterpieces, decorating each doughnut in a specific style. If you are lucky enough to visit Spain before Halloween, you will find doughnuts with eyes, syringes, drops of blood. In general, enjoy your meal!
I suppose, that such bakery food can be found throughout Europe. But we've been to Spain and Europe in total for the first time, so this was rather unusual for us.
5. Royal Palace is a Majestic Sight of Madrid
The building consists of the ground floor with the royal library, pharmacy and large stairs guarded by formidable statues–lions and the first floor with several apartments and banqueting hall. All the rooms are decorated with frescoes, paintings, rich furniture, statues. In general, the Royal Palace can be called a paradise for art lovers.
The Royal Palace is perhaps the only place in Spain where we were ordered to pass security screening. This was unusual for us because in Russia it is necessary to pass a security check in almost every institution from the station building to the ski resort.
