Kashmir, J&K

“Agar firdous baroye zameen ast, hami asto, hami asto hami ast” – Amir-e-Khusru Dehluvi (If there is paradise on earth, It is here, it is here, it is here)

Being one of the most famous destinations around the world, the city is a paradise in every sense. Wet lands, historic cities, dotted lakes midst hills are some attraction of the city. The place is perfect for lovers who are hoping for a heavenly time on their honeymoon. Snowfall in Kashmir gives you a chance to enjoy the lovable moments. The scenic beauty creates an atmosphere to make the moments even more special.

Ladakh

Ladakh means the land of high passes. It is located in the leh district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Ladakh remains covered in snow and inaccessible by land most part of the year. If you are a mountain lover this is the place for you. The colorful gompas have attracted many Buddhists here. It is also one of the best hikes in India and the topography is sure to make your heart skip a beat. Options like high-altitude treks and river rafting is what drives tourists here.

Places worth a visit:

Pangong lake one of the largest salt water lakes at an altitude of 5000 metres approx, is a must visit in Leh, but don’t expect boating facility. Only one third of the lake is in India with two third being in China. This is a place where you can relax, rejuvenate and enjoy with your partner. It is also known as “Little Tibet”, since it plays host to large number of Tibetan festivals. If you are planning to travel by road, it is advisable to check if it is open before proceeding.

Magnetic Hill located in ladakh is place where the landscape and surroundings create an illusion that you are going uphill when you actually are going downhill.

Khardung La is arguably the highest motorable pass in the world and is covered in snow throughout the year.

Best season to visit: June until September

That’s not it. There are other good options too.

Share in comments about your favorite destination. I would be happy to hear.
