Best Resorts in Nassau, Bahamas, with Photos and Video Tours
Nassau is the ultimate beach vacation experience. If you’ve never been, the first thing that will fascinate you is the impossible shades of the water. It ranges from baby blue to turquoise to the dark blue of the deep. Add swaying palms, fragrant flowers, white sand, perfect weather, and the fact that there are seldom any waves, and what more could you ask of a beach?
Once you’ve made your decision to visit the Bahamas, you’ll need a place to stay, of course. This decision won’t be easy. Nassau prides itself on providing guests with a wide choice of lodgings. If you have a resort in mind, below are the best on the island! Vacation package deals are frequently offered, especially in the "off season." And by the way - it really is better in the Bahamas!
Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort
This resort is a true tropical Bahamas paradise. It has nearly seven acres of water entertainment, including three swimming pools with waterfalls, a swim-up bar, and large whirlpools. If you prefer the beach, step over to the 1,000 feet of frontage on beautiful Cable Beach. You can also enjoy snorkeling, swimming, sailing, or kayaking. When night falls, attend a book signing, wine tasting, or gaming at nearby Crystal Palace Casino.
This is a great Nassau resort for families. If you have the kids in tow but need some adult time, leave the young ones at the resort’s Kids Club where they’ll be entertained with supervised activities. The resort has several on-site restaurants, lounges, a fitness center, and meeting facilities. Every room includes a private patio or balcony with a great view.
Wyndham Nassau Resort
The beachfront Wyndham Nassau consists of three 15-story towers set among palm trees and white sand. Conveniently located near major attractions like Gregory’s Arch, Fort Charlotte, and Paradise Island, it features amazing large swimming pools, a giant twisting water slide, a tiki bar, and eight restaurants and lounges.
Eateries include restaurants and cafes that serve Starbucks drinks, authentic Asian cuisine, a seaside buffet, deli sandwiches, hamburgers, traditional Bahamian dishes, salads, snacks, and Black Angus steaks. Meals and snacks can also be delivered right to your room.
Guests can enjoy a famous Bahamas frozen tropical drink or other beverage right on the beach, at the pool’s swim-up bar, or in one of the more traditional bars. Nighttime fun includes gaming, dancing, and live entertainment on the weekends.
The large guest rooms and suites feature balconies, many with spectacular ocean views. If you’re feeling lucky, the Crystal Palace Casino is mere steps from your room. You can also take in a live show at the Rainforest Theater. Meeting facilities and a huge ballroom are also on the property.
Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort
If you’re looking for the perfect honeymoon destination or for a romantic getaway to the Bahamas with that special someone, this is the place! It’s exclusively for couples – no kids, no singles - and it's all inclusive! Enjoy lush gardens, seven swimming pools, a misting pool, six whirlpools, and waterfalls.
The resort features eight amazing restaurants, including a pub, a beachside grill, and a Five Star Diamond restaurant that serves French cuisine. If you prefer something more intimate, arrange for private candlelit dining under a canopy right on the beach. Nighttime entertainment includes authentic Caribbean music, themed parties, beach parties, bonfires, discos, cocktail parties, masquerades, piano bars, and talent nights. Hit the spa for a facial, a massage, a nail treatment, and treatments for the body.
An amazing assortment of accommodations are available, including suites with 24-hour room service, a Roman tub, a balcony or patio, private dining on the pier, and even a butler. Your vacation includes kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing, hydrobiking, tennis, billiards, table tennis, shuffleboard, beach volleyball, and bocce ball. You can also spend time in the fitness center, complete with elliptical machines, treadmills, stair climbers, weights, and stationary bikes. You can also take a class in aerobics, Pilates, yoga, or aqua fitness.
And there’s more! Sandals Royal Bahamian has its own tropical island just offshore. Guests hop on the ferry, and in just a few minutes they arrive at Sandals Cay. On the island are two glorious beaches, a swimming pool with a swim-up bar, and a wonderful restaurant.
Marley Resort and Spa
This is a small, intimate beachfront resort housed in what used to be the governor’s mansion. It’s located on a secluded stretch of Cable Beach and is set among lush tropical foliage and flowering plants. The resort has a fascinating history. It was frequented by Bob and Rita Marley in the 1970s, and in 1982, it was purchased by Rita as a vacation home. Rita, along with Ziggy and her other children, still visit from time to time.
With only sixteen beautiful rooms and suites, along with five-star concierge services, you’re sure to get individual attention. On site are two free-form swimming pools, and golf, tennis, racquetball, and a Bally Total Fitness Center are just steps away. One of the best elements of the resort is the Natural Mystic Spa, where you can relax with a massage, a personalized herbal bath, a dip in the whirlpool or hot tub, and traditional Caribbean rituals. You can also get a manicure or pedicure while enjoying an ocean view, or dine on the spa’s private terrace. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the resort’s dining room, the Simmer Down, where fresh seafood is the specialty. Diners can savor their meal in the elegantly appointed main dining room, on the terrace, or on the seaside balcony. If you prefer “staying in,” your meals can be served in your room. Live nightly entertainment is provided in the Stir It Up Bar.
