Cebu Yellow Submarine

Updated on August 29, 2012

There is a new hype that would soon take Cebu by storm. For those who seek to venture to the deep cold blue waters to see the wonders of the ocean floor need not to get wet. A Yellow submarine had completed its voyage to Cebu and would soon take anyone who wish to witness and experience the wonders of rich marine life and magnificent coral reef in the depths of Cebu. For those of you who didn’t know, Cebu is considered to be one of the best destinations for scuba diving in the Philippines.

The 99 tons Cebu Yellow Submarine was bought from Thailand and can accommodate around 48 passengers per trip. The Yellow Submarine has a max dive depth of 100 meters and max speed of 7 knots with a height of 7.2 meters and length of 22.2 meters. Cebu Yellow Submarine arrived last July 27, 2012 and will surely be a great addition to the ever growing Cebu Tourist Spot that Cebu has to offer. It surely has the potential to be the top as the Cebu Yellow Submarine is the first commercial submarine that will soon sail the Visayas region. It’s just like you are watching the breath taking and wondrous site unfolds out the window of your car but instead of driving you are hundreds of feet under the sea.

Currently, it is expected to start opening its hatch on September as the company is still finalizing its legal papers. As soon as the hatch will open, I will surely be one of the first who will dare this underwater adventure. For those people who wish to take a glimpse of Cebu Yellow Submarine before it’s voyage begins, you can do so by visiting Imperial Palace Resort and Water Park one of the leading hotels Cebu at Maribago, Mactan Island, Cebu.

So for anyone who will be visiting Cebu soon make sure to add this destination/activity to your itinerary or you will wish you have.

A great song to remember by while on your voyage

If I could, I would take a trip on this sub. It would awesome to see all the ocean activity from deep below. Maybe this will catch on and the cost will lower after a couple of years. Thanks for the news on this sub.

@Maria Cecilia - Yup I couldn't believe it either. No price have been release yet but my guess it will be around 1,500 - 2,500 pesos and depends on how far the route will be. But it's a must try who knows how long it will stay.
