Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights

Updated on July 21, 2009

It is hard to believe that this year is almost half over and slowly slipping into winter. I know that the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights is going to be only a few short months away. I know that many people will be looking for winter plans and a great place to spend some of your winter evenings will the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights. I know that many peopel are probably saying why would you want to go to the zoo when it is going to be dark out and you will not be able to see the animals that are out on display, but this is the best time to go to the Cincinnati Zoo is during the Festival of Lights. I know that from experience going to the Cincinnati Zoos Festival of Lights is by far one of the most rewarding trips that I have during all of my ventures to the Cincinnati Zoo. Here are some of the reasons why you will enjoy going to the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights.

1. The Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights allows your to have some great family time.

I know that going to the Cincinnati Zoo at any point in time allows you to have great family time, but when you are looking at Christmas lights it really allows you to bring in your family during a special time of the year. Which during the holiday season it seems to draw all your family closer to each other, but if you are able to get out and onto what many people would consider neutral ground such as the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights you can have a great time with family members without having to worry about the fights that can come when you are at family members homes.

2. Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights Will Let You Enjoy the Animals at a Time You Normally Do Not

I know that when I went to the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights I was able to enjoy the animals at a totally different time than what I normally would be able to. I know that the first year that I went to the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights that I was able to hear the lions roaring. Which if you have never heard a lion roar even though I know that they are contained in the area that they are in you will be shaken because of how loud they are! My kids found it very entertaining to hear them roar finally, but during our normal day time visits to the Cincinnati Zoo it is hard to hear them if you will find out why they say that the roar is very loud and intimidating.

3. Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights Allows You to Find Some Great Treats

While many people think that all that you will find at the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights is your normal every day food that you find at the zoo at any period. You will want to make sure that you check out the speciality stands that are set up at various locations around the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights. I know that for me it was nice being able to find the Almonds and Fudge that is made only during this time period. I know that the Almonds are the best that I have had. The fudge is also of very high quality that I have only found at shops that are specializing in only fudge production.

Now many people will enjoy being able to visit the lovely Cincinnati Zoo during periods of time that are during the summer, but with the heat bearing down on you those trips can be very hot and exhausting. However, if you venture down to the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights you will not have that hassle of the extreme heat. I know from my own experiences that the Cincinnati Zoo Festival of Lights will not disappoint people. So you will want to make sure that you set aside some of your busy holiday time to visit the Cincinnati Zoo with your entire family.
