Guadalajara

Located in the center region of the state, Guadalajara is the Jalisco's capital. It is one of the largest cities in the country of Mexico and its main activity is commerce so you can find many products, both traditional and modern. In downtown Guadalajara you can find impressive buildings and museums, such as El Hospicio Cabañas and El Palacio de Gobierno, both of them are famous for their internal murals made by the muralist José Clemente Orozco; the Degollado Theater, the Cathedral and the regional and municipal museums of the city. If you like the nightlife, I recommend visiting the Paseo Chapultepec, a street with a walker surrounded by bars and restaurants for all tastes.

Chapala
Chapala
Chapala is the largest lake in Mexico. It is located in the east of the region. Its view in rainy weather (June-August) is magnificent. Since it is a small town that is next to this lake, you may just dedicate a quick visit of a day to visit it. The recommended thing in this place is to walk along the boardwalk, take a boat trip to the Isla de los scorpions and eat in one of the restaurants overlooking the lagoon, in any of them the food is very good.

Mazamitla

If what you like is a mountain landscape and you run away from the heat, you should visit Mazamitla. This place is located at 124 km south of the capital of the state, Guadalajara. Mazamitla is a place called like a traditional magical town of the region. It is a place where the warmth of people surprises and you can find peace and tranquility that seems to be magical. In this place you can camp or rent a cabin, ride a quad bike or ride horse and enjoy the wonderful scenery on the way to a beautiful waterfall of crystal clear water.
In this place do not forget to go through the typical craft shops and buy sweets because they will surprise you and you will love them.

If you want fun and beach, do not forget to visit Puerto Vallarta. This place is located in the occidental coast of the country. You will find there a beautiful beach for all ages. In this place you can swim in the sea and practice different water sports or enjoy a massage or go dancing.
The sensation of walking along the pier of this port is something incomparable, becase you can find all kinds of crafts, sculptures and artists that demonstrate their talent for tourists.

The tequila route is a tour of four famous towns for being the main producers of one of the most recognized beverages in Mexico worldwide: the tequila.
These populations are: Arenal, Amatitan, Tequila and Magdalena. They are located 60 km northwest from Guadalajara.
When traveling along this route you will find the extensive fields of the blue agave plant, raw material for the realization of the traditional drink of this region.
When visiting Arenal, do not miss the opportunity to visit the skull museum, where you will be told the story of how this drink began to be made.
In Amatitan, one of the oldest constructions in the region known as the Chimulco Ruins, now used for a beautiful original restaurant.
In Tequila enjoy the attractions for tourists, the tours by the distillers and take advantage to buy souvenirs and crafts.
In Magdalena enjoy the tranquility of the small town and know the lagoon of the place.
