Corpus Christi...Sparking City by the Sea
This hub is basically where I live. I live in Texas; more specifically I live in Corpus Christi, Texas. Right along the coastline; I love it here and always have, although I did move away when I first married my ex-husband and only after raising my kids and sending them off to college did I come back with my new husband of 8 years (we are still on our honeymoon lol).
I have always loved it here in Corpus because there is always so much to do here. If you love the water then this is the place for you. We live right by Padre Island where the beach is and during the summer months, that is where you will find us every chance we get. My husband is from Russia so he loves the climate here, even the 100 degree weather that we inevitably get during the summer months. He actually has a skin condition that the sun makes better for him, so he loves the summer months, he always feels better. He hasn’t had to endure any hurricanes yet so he still likes it here.
There are plenty of seafood places to go here such as Joe’s Crab Shack and Blackbeard’s and of course Captain Jack’s right on the water. If you are ever in Corpus then you must visit these places because you can’t get better seafood in Texas in my humble opinion.
We have an area here in Corpus Christi called Ocean Drive where all the skyscrapers from downtown are visible and it is right by the water. You will always see many people walking along the sidewalk on a nice day, which is usually every day, although this winter seems to be the coldest for many years, I don’t know what is going on. On the same walkway there is a monument to Selena the Spanish singer that was killed a few years back and of course Farrah Fawcett was from Corpus Christi as well. I think that her father still lives here in Corpus Christi, but don’t quote me on that.
There is quite a lot of Hispanics here and a lot of Tejano music and plenty of Tejano festivals as well, thay are always a lot of fun to go to. I love this culture in our city and state and to me there isn’t a culture like this anywhere else in Texas. Corpus Christi is like no other city.
We also have the air craft carrier the Lexington here, of course it has been retired for many years but you can take a tour on it and when they light it up at night on the water it looks very nice. I have included some pictures so that you can see where I live and I hope you enjoy it. I know that Corpus Christi isn’t the most glamorous place to live but it is where I have called home for a long time. Hope you have enjoyed my pictures.
