Durano Eco Farm & Spring Resort
Uragay Cold Spring is the main attraction to some Cebuanos and Tourist in Carmen, Cebu. Few only knew that Durano Eco Farm existed. It is far more than Uragay but you'll take the same road to reach the two destination. Actually, you can pass by Uragay going to Durano Eco Farm since is farther than it.
Two years ago, we have unplanned road trip going to Carmen with my cousins with our motorbikes. We stopped at Uragay but found out it was so crowded so we decided to go to St. Benedicts Monastery instead.
Along the way we saw a signage saying Durano Eco Farm with an arrow below. We turned to the direction driving in a narrow and a bad road until we reach it. At first we thought it was a farm for nursery tree and plants. We have to stop then because we boarded kids on the ride and I think they must see those butterflies and dragonflies flying around which is not available anymore in any part of my place.
As we park, we saw that they have signages for cold spring entrance so we ask the lady where it was for us to see. Because P60 entrance wasn't a joke at all, it was too expensive so we have to see it first. She lead my husband and my cousin to somewhere I don't know as I was enjoying the moment seeing trees and plants around with my kids.
To reach the spring you have to take the road going down to the foot of the mountain. It takes 10 minutes if you have kids and be careful not slip because it was norrow and slippery cement track.
If you want to escape the noisy street of the city, the polluted air you breath and the crowded surrounding I recommend you to visit this place. With all the trees and plants around, the birds singing, the sound of the water and the peaceful place, you'll not regret having a break from city life.
Entrance Fees:
P60/adult
P30/kids (4 & up)
Cottages:
P200-P300 Tables and chairs, depends on the sizes
P500 for bamboo cottage
P1,500 for cottages with AC room and own CR
They got 7 pools with different depths. The first and the second are for kids while third to seventh are for adults. And it is free flowing cold water.
How to get there via bus?
- You have to take a bus at North Bus Terminal for Carmen
- Get off Carmen Public Market
- Ask habal-habal (single motorbikes) to take you to Durano Eco Farm; Fare is P35
For those who will take their vehicles then this is for you.
Carmen is a 2 hour drive away from Cebu City and it is 30 mins away from Town center. It is a long drive so don't forget that you should take note to left turn in a signage for St. Benedicts Monastery ( anove photo is attached). Durano Eco Farm signage is 4 kilometers away.
Be sure you got all you need for swimming and for your lunch because you don't like driving back to public market or grabbing left items at your car. Remember it was a long way back to your car park.
I hope you will enjoy as much as I did!
