Known as the business and entertainment gateway to the South for commerce and social networking, Atlanta, Georgia has earned it's reputation for being one of America's best cities to start and grow a business.
After having the title of Convention Capital of the World at one time, Atlanta's turn at welcoming visitors from around the world culminated in 1996 as the world literally came to the city for the Centennial Olympic Games that Summer.
Now, 18 years after the games, Atlanta has maintained it's appeal for being one of America's great social networking environments for expanding a brand and growing recognition.
In the South, Atlanta is an attractive place for entrepreneurs because of its relatively low cost of living, convenient transportation, available tech hubs, and diverse talent pool.
Between 2000 and 2006, Atlanta's population grew by 20.5 percent, making it the fastest growing urban area in the country.
It is this very social opportunity of commerce found in the city that 3 gentleman from Atlanta have seized with their unique style of marketing and promotion for new business owners to performing artists, and visual artists.
Fred Stallworth, Reginald Johnson, and Clarence "C-Dubb" Williams started Divine Elements Entertainment in 2010 unifying a very old notion that a happy customer is a lasting customer.
They provide new business owners and artists the opportunity to be seen and heard in a relaxed party type atmosphere at various club venues throughout Metro Atlanta with patrons out on the town for an evening of fun and socializing.
With a built-in following that brings anywhere from 300 to 500 people to an event, Fred, Reginald and Clarence realize an old but true marketing tool, "the best advertising is still word of mouth", and if a business owner or artist makes the right connection at one of their events, in this age of Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, the results can be well, "Divine".
Who are these three maestros of the social and business network mixers? They all met while growing up on Atlanta's South side in the neighborhoods of College Park and East Point. The idea, at first, was to create an environment for young artists from singers, to visual artists and spoken word artists and poets, to be able to showcase their work and develop a fan base.
This sprang from the popularity of the coffee houses and clubs that started the open-mike nights to interact more with their patrons that grew in popularity in the late 80s and 90s, but with more of a "Happy Hour" feel to appeal more to the young professionals who made up a large percentage of the corporate America workforce and would get together for socializing after work or the start of the weekend.
Individually, each brings a certain dimension to Divine Elements Entertainment that allows for these social party network mixers that, as mentioned earlier, has patrons come to these great urban night clubs in metro Atlanta in numbers ranging from 300 to 500.
Reginald Johnson reaches out to artists looking to showcase, or to business start-ups looking for exposure, to booking the clubs, and event promotions. He also does the company's public relations and maintaining their fan and contact base;
Fred Stallworth creates the concepts and themes for each event; graphic designs for the company's fliers and promotions as well as, maintains the company's relationships with outside clients that are affiliated with them and over-sees anything that deals with the creative direction of the company;
Clarence "C-Dubb" Williams is in charge of all of D.E.E.'s tech sound and systems set up at the venues, and is responsible for DJ services and communications.
I sat down with these guys recently to talk about their success in using today's social media with networking events at area clubs:
Q: What are the differences from how you promote your party and network mixer events? What are some of the other services you offer?
A: Some of the differences of how we promote our events and social mixers is that we make a personal connection with our clients and guess that attend which is critic. We want everyone to fill "Exclusive" and get the VIP treat. Some of the other services we offer are marketing, DJ services, event planning, videography, and photography.
Q: Your business name, Divine Elements Entertainment, has a "spiritual" meaning according to your About Us page on your website. Who came up with the name, and what does that mean for you in business?
A: Divine - reverence to "God" as the driving force behind the business. The collective "elements" which are symbolized by the collective efforts of three* educated African American men inspiring to be positive.
Q: How many people work on your team?
A: We currently have 25 staff members ranging from Administrative assistant, marketing director, fashion coordinator, street team, etc
Q: As your business evolves, what are some of the other goals you are working on?
A: As we evolve, are goals are to do upscale large concert events in multiple cities. We will also increase our participation with the community and non-profit organization.
Q: Who are your business inspirations and where do you see your company in 5 years time?
A: We believe the business model and blueprint of a successful business is a combination of Bishop J.D. Jakes and Jayz. Both are business savvy and have willingness to mold and shape society. In the next five years, we plan to expand the company and brand outside of the Atlanta area and make Divine Elements Entertainment a household name, and a entertainment "HUB"
I asked them what has been one of their best experiences of running the company since they started in 2010, and for Reginald it has been the branding of one of their night clubs where they hold regular events called, Chocolate Obsession.
Since they started doing their events at Chocolate Obsession's Original Chocolate Bar, the club's name has become known throughout Metro Atlanta, and patrons come to relax and enjoy great food and music, and learn of new business owners located throughout the city.
Divine Elements Entertainment has cornered the way social media and network marketing can expand a business event, or showcase an artistic talent to maximize on it's growth potential.
The guys are poised now to expand on their business as promoters for a tour with some of the great talent they have showcased over the years, and will consist of one headliner, 3 opening acts, and some divine elements concepts added. The artist line-ups and tour dates will be announced soon.
It seems only an appropriate next step for these three who have conquered the social networking vibe of how to bring people together for a night of fun and commerce in one of America's most exciting cities.

These are the top 4 reasons why Atlanta has become the "hub" city of the South to start a business according to a published 2013 'Business Insider' article:
1. Low cost of living
This is an extremely important factor for new businesses that have limited financial resources and are in their early stages. Compared to larger metropolitan areas, Atlanta is a relatively inexpensive city, where you don't have to make as much money to experience a similar lifestyle as those living in larger cities.
And as more companies rely on technology to grow and expand their businesses, it's become less important where the business actually is, as long as you're able to access all of the resources you normally would if you were living in a bigger city.
"It's become so much cheaper to start a business especially here," according to a business owner, "Atlanta has a lot of free classes for entrepreneurs and it's really easy to find people to help and advise you. There are a lot of opportunities for innovation here because Atlanta is still not as innovative as Chicago, New York or Los Angeles," so there's a lot of room of movement and growth.
2. Convenient transportation
The world's busiest airport — Hartsfield-Jackson International — is located in Atlanta, which means that business travel is easy and more affordable if you're already living near the city. You can meet with international clients and transport goods much more easily, in and out of the city.
Furthermore, MARTA — the city's bus and railway system — is the "key to attracting tech employees" in the area. David Dabbiere, CEO of 'Airwatch' calls Atlanta's transportation system the "secret weapon" for his tech and security firm.
3. Tech hubs
Tony Riffel, the owner of coffee shop Octane in Atlanta, says that sometimes he feels more like "he's running a business incubator than a corner hang-out," because his customers frequently ask him for advice or suggestions for their businesses.
But Riffel isn't the only one that's been seeing this trend. In 2012, the Atlanta Tech Village opened its doors as a business that brings entrepreneurs together to exchange ideas, along with providing actual workspace for business owners to operate their daily tasks.
And the city isn't just a booming start-up tech hub. Georgia hosts at least 13,000 technology companies — including AT&T Mobility, CNN and Damballa Inc. — employing 250,000 tech workers, according to Metro Atlanta's Chamber of Commerce.
4. Diverse talent pool
Atlanta is home to some of the most advanced universities in technology and bio-science degree programs, such as Georgia Tech, Emory University, and Georgia State University. In fact, Georgia Tech has one of the oldest business incubators in the country: the Advanced Technology Development Center, a start-up accelerator that has helped launched more than 130 companies.
Many of the graduates of these top universities end up residing in the area and greatly contribute to Atlanta's business growth.
The city's growth and identity in recent years have made it one of the country's best places to start a new business, but aside from being a significant tech hub for entrepreneurs, Reid says that there is a Southern hospitality quality that isn't evident in larger cities. For example, businesses seriously "become a part of the community that they're in," meaning that if they run into financial hardship, the community will get involved to keep the business sustained.
"It's not unheard of for the community to have fundraisers for the business, bridging that line between just strictly doing business and reaching out to people."
