Family Friendly Travel Locations

Vacation destinations that provide offerings for families have emerged in the U.S. in the last 20-30 years. There are some very nice locations in the country that provide families with the fun and relaxation they need. Here are some tips to find the best vacation destination for your family.

1. Talk to all the members of your family who plan to take part in the vacation. Ask them what types of activities, sleeping accommodations, relaxation, and food they would like to experience while on vacation. Record their wish list to compile an overall wish list for the whole family.

2. Research vacation destinations with the family wish list you created in Step 1. There are some great family friendly vacation locations, however, what may interest one family, may be boring to another family

3. For a family who wants to do it all on vacation Orlando, San Diego, Williamsburg, and Myrtle Beach likely stand at the top of the list. Each of these locations has a multitude of family activities, resorts, entertainment, and restaurants suitable for families. There are many things that appeal to every age from amusement parks, water fun, relaxation, great family restaurants, golf, and more at these locations.

4. For families who love amusement parks at the top of the list are Sandusky, OH, Orlando, Southern California, Hershey, PA, Pigeon Forge, TN, and Williamsburg. Cedar Point in Sandusky is consistently voted the best amusement park in America. Southern California and Orlando both boast multiple amusement parks including Disney Parks and Sea World.

5. For families who want to play in the water there are some great destination choices. At the top of the list are Wisconsin Dells, WI, Myrtle Beach, the Bahamas, and Orlando. Consider whether water parks or a beach is more important.

6. For a family who likes museums Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Indianapolis have some the best family friendly museums in the country.
