Going to OBX?- Take your iPhone

How many times have you been out and about at the Outer Banks and have changed plans midstream? Only to remember that the coupon book or travel guide is still back at the rental. Well have no fear! Never miss that great deal again! OBX.com app is available from the app store and a wonderful resource to have in your pocket. From clipping coupons to the latest weather conditions, finding the nearest medical facility or automotive repair shop you will have a complete list in the palm of your hand. Need a little help finding a store? Go to shopping and find the store in the list and you will get a map as well as a phone number. I give this one 5*****

Want to know when the last Ferry is, how long it takes to cross, what the fee to ride is? With the NC Ferries app you can do all of those things and more. With in app ability to make a reservation with your iPhone and receive updates on schedule changes this completely free app is available in the app store and well worth the download. If the Ferry is on your list of things to do while in the OBX this is a handy tool to keep your vacation running on schedule.

While you are on vacation you will sometimes find that the phone book is either missing or hidden in a drawer or cupboard somewhere. Set up like a traditional yellow pages this app is easy to use and completely free to download. It will use your current location or give you the option to choose a town. In app dialing means no writing down a number and if the business has one available you can also view their yellow page add and possibly grab a discount coupon.

Ever seen some of the homes for sale and just wonder? Wouldn't it be nice to even take a peek inside? You can scour through the home books or you can download a number of free apps. Search the app store for OBX and several pop up. (Search for Twiddy and you can grab yet another) The apps will ask to use your present location and if you allow it will zoom in and show you the houses for sale in your general area. You can zoom out farther to search other locations as well. Zooming in will give you an easier time clicking on a house and once you do you can even look at the listing photos, see what the price is and which office has the home for sale. Just a great set of all around apps. Whether you are curious or seriously looking, it will give you the information you are wanting.

Hope this hub gave you a little insight. I really have not found an OBX app yet that was not useful from the app store. The free ones are totally awesome and even the few paid ones are worth the buck or two.
