Heisler Park - Laguna Beach
Introduction
Heisler park is listed as one of the top ten things to do in Laguna beach. It has beautiful scenery and it is right on the beach. There is a walkway along the pacific coast with benches and public BBQ grills. Well worth the trip and it is free.

9/11 Memorial
Background
This is one of the nicest public park In the state of California. It is a small park in size but it is easy to access, has beautiful scenery and it is free. On a recent vacation to Irvine, we went to the park to check it out. I was surprised by the ease of parking. Located just up the road from downtown Laguna beach, it is high on a cliff overlooking the beach and rocky coastline. You can see the waves breaking on the shore, surfers surfing, and beachcombers. Along the walk path, we encountered a few artists with their easel painting the scenery. There is a memorial at the top and various sculptures including, to my surprise, a tribute to 9/11. There is a stairway that leads down to the beach.
Summary
I always like the ocean. The waves and the sound are very soothing. The breeze and the salt in the air and the birds just bring one closer to nature. This is one of my favorite places to visit along with the Cliffwalk in Newport RI.
