Oprah says "Holiday in Australia !
Where to start ?!
Adventure holiday !
When planning a trip to Australia remember it is a very big country and if you only have a short time here you need to work out what you really want to see & get the most of out of your visit.
There are many fun activities apart from sightseeing in the cities that will keep you busy enjoying yourself from water sports to hot air ballooning , horse or camel riding !
Australia gives you many opportunities to try some new adventures here & have the time of your life!
You might like to learn to surf , there are many surf classes around the coast.
If you really enjoy snorkeling like me you might find it interesting to know at Coral Bay WA you can snorkel at a reef without paying a lot of money for a boat trip.
There are many places to see between Perth & Broome that I will write about as we see them.
I haven't been there yet, am 11 hours south in a country town Morawa where the wildflowers grow but cant wait to go there !!
Work out how many days you will have here & how you plan to travel.
Will you hire a com bi & free camp ? Hire a car & stay in motels or backpacker accommodation?
Are you a water fan ,try out all the diferent water sports here or a lover of museums & other old buildings, Art galleries ??
Does the big city life draw you to it ? Rushing for a tram in Melbourne to go explore its market ,followed by a visit up the tower where you can see the latest cruise ships in the port below ?! ( we had a day in Melbourne Dec last year, on our honeymoon aboard the Sun Princess trip to Tasmania we had a day exploring Melbourne which we really enjoyed !)
Trying out one of the many coffee shops there along near the river even have a river boat cruise & see the city from a different angle.Very relaxing .
It is a good idea to fly into one city IE fly into Broome out of Perth
into Sydney & out of Melbourne or Brisbane ....
Oprah & Russel Crowe in Sydney Harbour !
Spend a few days in Sydney if you fly/in out there for sure .Take the free bus down to Circular Quay & have a wander around the harbour , watch one of the shows that get put on at random.
Take a ferry to Taronga zoo & have a ride in the gondola on the way up .
Make sure you allow plenty of time as there is a lot to see including lovely views of the city.
Enjoy a leisurely ferry ride to Parramatta, have a browse around the shops, lunch by the river before your return trip.
There are many harbour cruise choices I love from a slow wine or dinner cruise to a fast paced jet boat ride !
Make sure you take the ferry out to Watson's Bay where you have a beautiful view of the city .There are plenty of buses that can take you back afterwards.
Enjoy fish & chips from Doyles ,by the water - unwind as you watch the sun go down on the city.
Are you going across the Nullabor ? !
Cycling - great way to explore !
If you have time cycling is a great way to see many of the sights.
There are places you can hire a bike if only after one for a short term or if you are here longer why not buy one second hand to use while here.
It can save you a lot of money on public transport as well as keeping you fit !
Enjoy Victor Harbour !
Explore Perth area
I would recommend flying into Perth , having a few days to visit Kings Park, Fremantle Harbour taking a boat trip over to Rottnest Island , hiring a bike and exploring the Island even camping overnight there before heading back.
Take a boat cruise down to the Swan Valley wineries as a relaxing few hours to unwind !
For shopping explore the city of Perth & the markets then heading north .
Spend some time inland at Morawa, Mt Magnet & Meekatharra etc & other little towns before heading to Killbari & the national park .
A must of course is seeing the dolphins at Monkey Mia and also snorkelling at Coral Bay -Exmouth to see Ningaloo Reef.
