Kalbarri - Great place to visit !

Are you thinking of visiting Kalbarri the holiday mecca which is located 590 km north of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia ,

Kalbarri is a great place to relax and enjoy some of the most breath taking scenery in Australia. An ideal holiday location for families, couples, individuals or backpackers and suited to all ages.

Kalbarri is the one of the first places I wanted to explore on our way up the coast to Ningaloo Reef!

Kalbarri is one destination that you can spend 2 weeks without fully exploring the area. - Sightseeing the many attractions Kalbarri has to offer. Go fishing, swimming, snorkeling,whale watching and surfing. Kalbarri has it all - I was keen to see the rugged scenery of the nearby Murchison River gorges and coastal cliffs and we loved it .

There is so much more to see and do, Rainbow Jungle which is famous for the largest walk-in parrot aviary in AustraliaSea Horse Aquarium, Whale Watching,

We arrived in Kalbarri  about 10 am on Australia day.

Straight away I could see why so many people raved about the place.

The views are stunning !

I was longing to go for a swim as the ocean looked great, however I am glad I held off the temptation to jump in as when we drove down to the town we found there was a market on to explore !

As  I have a hub on volunteers It was great to see SES volunteers, ambulance drivers and more happy to let me take photos of them!

We enjoyed a sausage sizzle put on as a fundraiser put on by the local school & enjoyed seeing the many talents of locals.

Boat cruise.

One thing I had really wanted to do was enjoy a boat cruise up the river & our timing worked out well.

A group from camp quality had a boat cruise organised & had spare seats so we jumped aboard and enjoyed a leisurely river cruise , seeing Kalbarri from the water !

We passed part of Murchison Station on the way .

Swimming

I finally had the much needed swim in the bay .

We had local snapper & chips for lunch with a glass of Chardonnay by the river in the shade of a tree.

We were going to move on after lunch however we decided that if we could get a cabin in the caravan park opposite us then we would stay a night !

Much to my delight there was a cabin available for only $60 !

Kalbarri Pub

We decided to have dinner at Kalbarri pub & sat overlooking the bay .

I decided to take our time over our dinner by doing it in stages as at 8.30 there was fireworks opposite us.

We shared Garlic Bread- Kilpatrick Oysters – T bone steak & crayfish –Passionfruit cheesecake .

It was all delicious and I reccommend the meals !

Kalbarri Resort is one of the places that often has a great deal for resorts360 members!

Beautiful pictures. My husband and I have been saving for a trip to Australia. We hope to get there in the next year or so.
