Take a Sunday Afternoon Cruise Around Lake Union Aboard Argonaut II

Updated on August 1, 2020

I was a retired teacher and live-aboard in Seattle. Now I'm back to teaching in a remote area of New Mexico.

People usually think of far-off, exotic places when I say I'm going cruising on my classic wooden yacht (translation: big, old, wooden boat). But since we have jobs and other responsibilities, much of our cruising is done very close to home. The Puget Sound area has endless cruising locations, anchorages, sightseeing, and adventures. However, when there's just an afternoon, a cruise around Lake Union is fun and interesting. As many times as we have done this little trip and seen these same sights, I never get tired of it.

On this particular Sunday, we were participating in a Classic Yacht Association excursion and potluck honoring our new Commodore. Come on along!

Time to Go Back Home to the Marina

The weather was wonderful, the company was great, and the food was fantastic; but it's time to go back to the marina. See you next time!

Sure Tony, you're welcome to come along! Here in the rainy Pacific Northwest, we appreciate our wheelhouse, although plenty of people still sail.

Always good to know there's another Lee! Thanks for stopping by!

Can I come with you next time you do this .... pretty, pretty please! I do love being on the water - almost any water - and your boat sounds quite awesome.

I've done a fair bit of sailing in my day so would be able to work my passage! LOL!

      Your pix are outstanding.

BTW I have a cousin called Lee Borril! Just thought I'd throw in that quite useless bit of information just for fun!

      Love and peace

      Tony

Thank you, Aley, for your very kind words! Yes, this area really has some of the best cruising that can be found anywhere.

I also get the same kind of comments about being "rich." If they only knew!

WOW...shades of Sleepless in Seattle! What a lovely Hub and it cruises around my favorite part of the country...here! I love the area of which you write, and although I have not been cruising up there, we went on the Christmas Cruise around the Sound and it was awesome!

Also, we lived in our small RV for a long time...! People thought it was because we were "rich" and I would have to set them straight! LOL

      Keep writing Lee! Love it!

So true, IzzyM. And since my photography skills are mediocre at best, it's really much better than you can see here.

I'm flattered! Both by your jealousy and by the mention in your hub which I just read and thoroughly enjoyed!

Why do I feel so jealous??? ... :-)

In “Advice to Youth - 2 “, I mention your name in the text as part of the joke, if it is OK with you. If it is not, please tell me and I shall remove it … :- )
