Plitvice Lakes National Park is the largest park in Croatia, it covers 73,350 acres. Situated in the Karst area of central Croatia at the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Plitvice lake National Park is the oldest National Park in southeast Europe. The Park was established in 1949. It is famous for its 16 lakes that are known for their distinctive colors, the lakes are connected by cascades and waterfalls , the largest waterfall being, 78 meters in height. At Plitvice you will experience amazing scenery, beautiful flora and fauna .
The National Preserve is home to a wide diversity of animal life, such as wolves, bears, dears and rabbits. Plitvice Lakes National Park is a haven for birds with more then a hundred bird species.

The Park is great for hiking, tracking, sightseeing, birding and photography.

Torres del Paine National Park is one the largest Parks in Chile, measuring about 2,400 square kilometers, known for its mountains, lakes, rivers glaciers and Paine Massif. The scenery is beautiful, you can experience wildly different terrain and landscapes at Torres del Paine.

There are a number of mammals such as foxes, pumas, guanacos and skunks to name a few.

The park contains 15 species of birds of prey, such as Black-chested Buzzard-eagle,Darwin's Rhea, Magellanic Horned Owl, Black-faced Ibis and the Rufous-tailed Hawk.

There are marked paths and shelters at the park that provide basic services.

The Park is located in the northwest corner of Wyoming USA, some of the park crosses over to Montana and Idaho. The Yellowstone National Park covers 8,983 square kilometers. The Yellowstone Park was established in 1872 and is said to be the first National Park in the world. It is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest super-volcano on the continent . The Park has many types of ecosystems. Yellowstone National Park features lakes, mountain ranges, canyons, rivers and more hot springs and geysers then anywhere else on the planet.

Kruger National Park covers an area of 19,633 sq kilometers and is the largest game reserve in Africa.

With more then 500 species of birds, most of which are residents, and 147 species of large mammals Kruger National Park has the highest number of large mammals in any one single park in Africa. The largest National Park in New Zealand, covering an area of 12,500 square kilometers.

      Nice page Ketage, and some beautiful photos to accompany it. I have visited Plitvice; it was a long time ago but I still remember the attractiveness off the lakes and waterfalls as we walked around them. And I've also been to the Kruger National Park and some others in Africa. Most of the others are on my wish list! Best wishes. Voted up, Alun
