Travel the USA in Style

You ever contemplated purchasing and traveling the USA in a luxury motor home or recreational vehicle ? What an experience . One day you are home - the next day preparing for an adventure . You are only limited by time and of course money, but the road is certainly open. No flights to book , no waiting around in airports. No need to plan ahead. You can change your mind in the middle of the trip , change routes, so what ?.

I like the fact that all my belongings and personal items needed for comfort are all ready and on board. The underneath storage is ample for you to take your favorite things. You can take fishing rods, coolers, tables, pretty much anything your heart desires. We clean it after every use and do regular monthly maintenance to keep it in top shape for an impromptu trip . Most dealerships will give you a free driving lesson too so you don’t have to feel intimidated at first driving what seems like a gigantic rig. Once you get the hang of if , it is pretty simple. Financing options are plentiful and motor home insurance cheap.

The process of purchasing a motor home can be a bit overwhelming. Thinking about price ranges, financing options, insurance , all a bit daunting . Taking first things first - Budget is always the first and foremost factor in determining which motor home to get . Next try to decide what type of motor home would suit you and your family best . Do you want it to travel, to camp or use it for transportation and recreation ? There are so many makes and models that finding one to fit your budget shouldn’t be too hard. You walk into an RV dealership the size of an amusement park and you are surrounded by every type , color and size imaginable. Knowing somewhat what you want and narrowing your options down before setting foot into the dealership is always smart. Not that a good salesman couldn’t sway you into a bigger or fancier purchase. The luxury RV’s in particular practically sell themselves.

For practical purposes you should know RV and motor home is used interchangeably. There are different types available . They are first sorted by category .- either motorized or towable , and then further sorted by classification. They all have their pros and cons but its really a matter of personal taste and comes down to how you plan to use yours.

A. Motorized RV’s are classified as

1. Class A

2. Class B

3.. Class C

.

B. Towable RV’s are classified as

1. Travel Trailers

2. Fifth Wheel

3. Truck Campers

4. Pop Ups

The Class ‘A’ is the luxury motor home and the big Kahuna of the RV World. Class ‘A’ ‘s can range in length from about 27 to 40 feet . They have every comfort you can expect to have at home. Some even have washers and dryers. Refrigerators, microwaves, stoves , A/ C , luxury bathrooms are all standard in luxury RV’s not to mention the rearview cameras, and plasma TV’s . Depending on the size they can also have one or more slide outs in the bedroom and living areas. Once parked you just push a button to expand these areas. They have motorized awnings too that provide shade and a cozy cover for an outdoor living space. Accessories are available to personalize your outdoor entertainment area.

Once you’ve decided on the luxury motor home then the agonizing process of selecting one of the hundreds of makes and models begins. They are all very nice. Each with their individual charm and signature . Some have leather others cloth furnishings . Do you want oak, maple, or red wood ? Do you want captain chairs or a couch ? Guaranteed every single RV you look at you will love something about . And so it comes down to quality of the RV, the best value for your needs and features you are willing to live with or willing to do without. Regardless of which luxury RV you purchase , they are all beautiful and unique in their own right. Motor home financing is available just like for a home but at a slightly higher interest rate because a motor home is considered a luxury item, but all things considered not bad at all. Good news is the interest can be deducted from your taxes as a second home. The motor home insurance is pretty reasonable too. After purchasing ours several of our friends have jumped on the RV trend. It is such a fun and relaxing time and best of all gives you a great opportunity to make new friends from all over within the RV community . They certainly are a friendly bunch and eager to help and offer tips and advice if you should need some. Hope you can join us.

      Hi Fastfreda

Thanks for reading and commenting. Vacationing by motorhome is certainly a great experience but yes, it has to be done at the correct time in your life.

Reading this hub brought back memories. We rented a 28 footer in 1986 for a trip from Georgia to N.Y. via of Florida. We actually live in California. So you know that was a vacation of a lifetime. Buying one, however is out of the question for me, as I am alone now and have no need for one. However this was a good hub.
