Maundy Thursday at Trichy
Maundy Thursday, also called Holy Thursday, is the beginning of the three-day celebration of Easter. It commemorates the last supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles. This day Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples, and the practice continues.
Maundy Thursday was observed with religious fervour in various churches at Trichy on the evening of Thursday. The feet-washing ceremony was performed and the service concluded with a procession taking the Blessed Sacrament to the place of reposition. We have a custom to visit (pilgrimage) all churches in town and offer felicitations to the sacrament. You can see how best the sacrament is shown decoratively in Churches at Trichy.
