When in Barcelona get outside from the centre and discover Montjuic five gems
Nice to travel to Barcelona, Spain, especially on Spring. Quite outside form the centre, 5 km from la Ciutat Vella, there's an area saying worth to visit is not enough. Actually... there's a big hill full of art and sports structures.

Fundaciò Joan Mirò
Entering the Museum and seat of the foundation is always an experience. Catalan painter of XX century, inspired by Dada and surrealism, his relevant works are paintings with no object but his own abstract fantasy. A champion of contemporary art, harmony and colour. Museum contains 200 pictures, 200 sculptures, 8000 drawings.
Olympic Stadium Lluis Companys
Dedicated to a 20's local politician, the structure has got 55.000 seats. Former Stadium of Espanyol football team, it was built in 1929. Same year of the Universal Exposition.
MNAC
A very spectacular location, the awesome palace just on top of the stairway is the symbol of Montjuic. Somebody would call it too classical, some other would think it's the Kings domicile (as it has got one in Barcelona for summer holydays). Actually renaissance and modern art as well are there exposed. Italian and Spanish masterpiece such as Giovanni Antonio Canal and Lluis Rigalt works, one can visit for free once a month, even on Saturnday night.
Olympic Sport Museum
Don't be surprised if after the 1992 Olympic Games, Barcelona municipality decided together with COE to host some symbols of athletics and other significant sports. Non Olympic ones, as Formula 1, and para-Olympic, have tribute too.

Last one is the highest in altitude, the highest in price and the more charm full. Montjuic Botanic Garden is a tribute to Mediterranean greenery and plants. One of the best view of the city is from there, because you overcome the hill and can see the port from the above.
