The first thing that comes to mind when I hear "Nara" is deers. Lots of them. Petting them would be great. Oh, you can feed them too?! Wow, Nara the land of friendly deers. But the truth is, Nara is not all about deers. There are lots to see and visit in Nara especially during the Autumn season.

1. Isuien Garden

Located within walking distance to Nara Park, Isuien Garden is often a missed out location. A traditional tea house garden that remains a beautiful eye catching destination into Japanese tradition and Momijis located in Nara. Sit by the traditional tea house terrace and enjoy a cool matcha ice cream as you enjoy the view of the red leaves and well kept garden. Explore the garden and find yourself lost in the history of traditional tea houses here in Japan. Each ticket allows entry into the garden itself and museum. Be sure not to miss out on this location here in Nara!

2. Kasuga Taisha

Second on the list is the infamous Kasuga Taisha located inside of Nara Park and Mount Wakakusa. Take a trip down the red leaves to find yourself in awe of the beautiful well maintained shrine in Nara Park. The serenity will leave you in admiration of Japan's culture.

3. Mount Wakakusa

Climb up to the peak of Mount Wakakusa and watch before your eyes the city of Nara at your foot steps. Watch peacefully on the grounds as families and children feed or runaway from deers. Savour every moment of this beauty.

Nara is a great spot for Nature Walks and Momiji hunting during Autumn.

I went to Nara when I was 18 and saw lots of fun places, though deer do seem to be the main attraction. Seeing your article and photographs have inspired me to visit again. Thank you!
