Newquay Post Office
Newquay Post Offices
If you're travelling around, then you won't know where the nearest, or best, Post Office is, so here's a handy guide to Newquay Post Offices.
In times when there's so much news about Post Offices closing, Newquay seems to have more than its fair share of Post Offices spread through the town.
There's the main Post Office right in town, tricky to get to in peak summertime - and with very limited on-site parking, but there are three more Post Offices within 1.5 miles of this one, which might be better/easier for you to reach. I've also included St Columb Minor Post Office and Quintrell Downs Post Office in this list, which are on the outskirts of Newquay on a busy route into the town, so are convenient for a lot of people approaching from the south and east.
Many small newsagent shops will sell you stamps, so if you just want to buy stamps then ask in supermarkets and newsagent shops. They'll be able to sell you a straight forward book of 6, or book of 12 1st-class or 2nd-class stamps. They won't be able to weigh your letters/parcels, or give advice on how to send it. But if you just need to buy a stamp for a letter or postcard, then they'll have those.
Opening Hours: The Post Office main hours are Monday to Friday 09.00-17:30 and Saturday mornings 9.00-12:30 but each will have variations such as an early closing day or closing for lunch. Quintrell Downs Post Office opens earlier than all the rest, with an opening time of 8.30am.

Newquay Main Post Office
The Newquay main Post Office is right in the centre of town. There are two short-term parking spaces out the front, but as there's usually 8-12 customers inside you can expect these to be taken already. Many people do park up the side road alongside the main Post Office, but there are double yellow lines there, so it's not advisable.
For further, nearby parking, you can try Trebarwith Crescent, which is up the side of the Post Office and over the narrow tram-way bridge to the next road.
Newquay main Post Office is the only Post Office that has a photo booth. They can also do car tax discs. It is the largest/main Post Office and so the one most suitable for wheelchair access. It's also the main sorting office for the area, so if you've received a postcard telling you there's a parcel to collect it'll most likely be here.
Opening Hours: 9.00am-5.30pm (Tuesdays opening at 9.30am). Saturday mornings from 9.00am-12.30pm
Whitegate Post Office / Chester Road Post Office
If you simply want to send a letter or parcel, or use one of the Post Office standard services, perhaps buy a birthday card, or get some wrapping paper and a box, then the Whitegate Post Office by Chester Road market might be better than going into the main Post Office.
The Whitegate Post Office is in the Whitegate Shopping Centre/Chester Market building on Henver Road - and there's abundant free parking available on site, making it an easy-in-easy-out option for speed.
Opening Hours: Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.30pm (in winter this is sometimes closed on Wednesday afternoons at 1pm). Saturday 9.00am-12.30pm
Crantock Street Post Office
The Post Office in Crantock Street is at the rear of the shop at the bottom end of the street. There's very limited on-street parking, probably 4-5 cars can park outside, with the rest of the street being double yellow lines. Although a lot of people do park on the double yellow lines and nip in, you can never tell if you're going to get caught or not :)
There is a large public car park about 100 yards away, if you go the 25 yards to the bottom of Crantock Street, then look to your right you'll see it.
Opening Hours:Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.30pm, Saturdays 9.00am-12.30pm
Pentire Post Office / Fistral Post Office
You might be forgiven for not noticing this Post Office in Newquay. Pentire Post Office, near Fistral Beach, is a small Post Office, ideal if you're on Pentire or if you're coming in from one of the villages to the south of Newquay and don't want to get mixed up with holiday traffic.
You can park right outside, although it's limited street parking. There's about 4-5 car spaces outside the Post Office, but customers of the shop next door will also be wanting to park there, so you can find you have to either wait, or drive along the road a bit further.
This small Post Office just offers usual counter facilities.
Opening Times: Mon/Tue/Wed/Fri 9am-5.30pm, Wednesdays is half day closing at 1pm. They are closed for lunch from 1-2pm. Saturdays 9am-12.30pm.
St Columb Minor Post Office
You might be forgiven for not having noticed there's a Post Office on Henver Road, the road is busy so it's easy to be concentrating on the traffic and not notice. It's on the left as you're driving towards Newquay, right by the pedestrian crossing.
There's limited off-road parking for 3-4 cars.
Opening Hours: Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 9am-5.30pm. Wednesdays and Saturdays half day closing 9am-12.30pm. They close for lunch from 12.30-1.30pm.
Quintrell Downs Post Office
I've included this as a Newquay Post Office because a lot of people will approach Newquay from Quintrell Downs - and there's a large Premier Inn hotel there, so for many people this might be the easiest Post Office to get to, especially on Saturday mornings in peak season.
Quintrell Downs Post Office is inside the local shop. It's a counter service, offering the usual postage/parcel sending services, purchase of basic wrapping materials and things like sending telegrams.
Opening Times: Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.30pm. Saturdays 9.00-12.30pm.
