Niagara Falls: God's Awe Inspiring Creation
Niagara Falls, the ultimate source of God's power.
Niagara Falls is an Awe Inspiring Creation
Niagara Falls, can best be described in these terms: "We may be awestruck by the immense natural forces evident in creation, and rightly so. Creation vividly reflects the power of the Creator." The Falls is one of the world's most impressive sights. Created more than 12,000 years ago based on geological findings; "The glaciers pressed down on the land during the last ice age and land down layers of sediment, then the slow process of erosion of ice and water ate at the surface of the escarpment," stated an article entitled A Brief History of the Falls. The article went on to explain, "Niagara Falls is the second largest falls on the globe next to Victoria Falls in southern Africa."
An Experience of Interest and Intrigue at Niagara Falls
My husband and I, did not want to wait for the tourist season which is June, July and August. We wanted to view this amazing spectacle in the privacy of time without a lot of additional onlookers. "The amount of water being siphoned away depends on two variables. The time of year, and the time of the day. Flow is greatest over the Falls in the daytime during peak tourist season."
The number of #tourists were still outstanding during the time of our visit toward the end of March. Regarding the amount of visitors, Minnie Blackman, a resident of #Niagara Falls, New York made this comment, "Niagara Falls use to be the #Honeymoon Capital of the world. A lot of the businesses left." She went on to explain how a lot of the residents came from the south because jobs were plentiful. That is no longer the case. "People now ask, what happened to all the stores and malls? Although shopping value is better over here and the casinos brought people, especially the #native American built casinos." Economic depression has also hit Niagara Falls, although it is a powerful drawing force for tourism. Riding throw the city's main streets, the reality of Minnie's statements were quite apparent as we gazed upon closed businesses. This gave me a local resident's perspective, of this legendary creation.
We still had the privilege of staying at Sheraton Hotel, located within the city of #Niagara Falls, NY. It was during the Easter holiday break, so a lot of kids with their parents were also on site to visit the Falls as well. Jimmie, who is 12 years old spoke briefly about his visit with parents during his break. "We have been here before, and we always love staying on the American side so that we can drive over to the #Canadian side to see the Falls. That is the best view, although we love staying here." It is understandable because of the interesting #Rainforest Café, with its towering fictitious trees surrounded by simulated monkeys and various other animals. For the adults, #T.J. Fridays Restaurant was available, with Rachel as our server. The Sheraton, was a perfect weekend getaway for our visit to the falls. We spent about six and half hours each way. Our drive through the #Pocono Mountains was an additional treat. For more information on the magnificent creations by our outstanding Creator Jehovah God, go to www.jw.org
A Variety of Different Food at Various Restaurants Are Available
Niagara Falls has a Yummy Legacy of Culinary Delights
Our first day in Niagara, New York, we decided to check out #Red Coach inn, for dinner. This charming little Inn, has the beauty of the rapids which lead to the Falls, as a view from its dining room windows. The waters nestled the coast in a systematic, yet powerful formation. We sat down for dinner near the chilled paned windows of the restaurant. We wanted to take the slight chill off, so our first course was their amazing French Onion Soup. A glass of Kendal Jackson Chardonnay was my choice of wine.
Our professional servers were John and Alicia. They presented an array of delectable dishes such as: Pan Seared Scallops, Lobster Tail, Tiger Shrimp, with a medley of vegetables and rice pilaf. Deliciously crusted bread with olive oil and creamed butter were also provided. A New York Strip Steak, with asparagus was ordered by my husband, which he said was "cooked to perfection." We ended our dinner at Red Coach Inn, where a scrumptious dessert tray was featured. We chose Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake with a caramel swirl. Our dinner was superb, as well as the service. Now it was time to go out and tackle the frigid, yet inviting air as we walked along the rapids on the American side of Niagara Falls.
On Saturday, for lunch we ventured downstairs in the #Sheraton Hotel, to Fridays restaurant. Rachel, was our attentive and professional server. Based on a history of, "Handcrafted Food and Drink since 1965," we started our lunch with Spinach Florentine Flatbread which was around $10. We ordered the New Smoke Stacked Burger as well as a Jack Daniel's Burger with Applewood-smoked bacon and melted provolone cheese. Freshly brewed Black Iced Tea, with wedges of lemon were our drinks. After lunch we headed over to #Canada, for the breathtaking view of the majestic Niagara Falls.

Once we left the American side of Niagara Falls in New York, we immediately met the staunch side of the government, where dark glasses nor an attitude, were accepted. With passports in hand, we drove up to the checkpoint. Such questions were asked as: Where do you live? Were are you staying? Do you have any type of weapons? Once our passports were returned by the officer, we continued on our adventure. Prosperity, was evident upon entrance on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls in Ontario. Major chains such as Sheraton, Hard Rock Café and various casinos were prevalent.
We parked our vehicle and immediately sprays of water hovered over us and filled the air. A variety of birds such as seagulls flew over the Falls. Water crashed on the shorelines with piercing aqua colors. White swirls churned within the water, powerful downpours erupted from the force of the water. The deafening sound of this grandiose structure was absolutely breathtaking. A foggy like appearance existed over the rocks as they were sprayed with tons of water. Moss covered rocks mingled at the bottom of the American and Canadian Falls.
People from all nations gathered around this outstanding site. Zain, an 87 year old man was visiting from Mumbai, India. His son said, "It is his first time here at the Falls. It is beautiful." Maria, a single mother from and refugee from #Syria, who has no family here mentioned, "I am doing good. I plan to stay here with my children in Canada." She also thought the Falls was "absolutely beautiful." It had been an interesting day thus far of intriguing people as well as one of the world's greatest gifts from our Creator, Niagara Falls.
Dinner at the Skylon Restaurant in Ontario, was Magnificent
Upon our arrival at #Skylon Restaurant, tourists were in line outside for The Falls 3D/4D Movie which shared the rich history of American Indian and their legends with the Falls . Some tourists also gathered with their family members for photos. We got on the elevator and arrived at the top. White linen table cloths with classy plating, stemware and flatware graced the tables. Seating near the window gave us an outstanding view of one of God's grandest creations. Whether it evolved from sheets of ice melting over the years, Jehovah God is the Creator of everything amazing on earth. Suddenly, a rainbow appeared across Niagara Falls. It was exhilarating.
Now it was dinner time. Rose, was our excellent server. We started dinner with Seafood Gumbo, filled with lobster and crabmeat. Drinks included a Premium Gray Goose Martini and Pellegrino Carbonated Mineral Water. We continued to dine on Rack of Lamb with Shrimp on the side, potatoes, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes and a mixture of other vegetables. Chicken Cordon Blue with a side salad along with fresh bread and butter were also served. We humbly consumed our delicious meal as Skylon restaurant rotated, giving us a tremendous view of the Falls and city of Ontario. Black and white keys were tickled on the piano during our dinner tour of this wonderful attraction.
An Appreciation of God's Creation: Niagara Falls
It was an unforgettable weekend of genuine, humble appreciation for my Grand Creator. On Sunday, before we started on our way back, we had the privilege to visit Niagara Falls' Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Upon our entrance in the hall, brothers and sisters came up to introduce themselves. They were so hospitable and loving, we felt right at home. Afterwards, we grabbed some lunch and started on our way back home. Niagara Falls, is truly one of Jehovah God's most powerful creations which "does not just maintain a standstill position but exudes nothing but power and creativity in the approximation of its flow never causing the falls to overflow over the banks all these thousands of years." Niagara's name "is derived from the Iroguois Indian word 'Onguiaahra' meaning the strait. There is an international boundary between the United States and Canada." What a compelling gift from Almighty God. May we always respect it as such.
