Beautiful Bangladesh - Pictures and Videos of Bangladesh

Updated on June 2, 2015

Bangladesh is a very beautiful country and to see the true beauty of Bangladesh you have to visit the country to actually really see it for yourself. It is placed in between India and Burma with the rivers flowing through the country into the Indian Ocean. The country of Bangladesh has a population of around 160 million and is highly densely populated.

I have visited Bangladesh on numerous occasions and ignoring the fact that the coutnry is in political turmoil most of the time, some of the countryside and landscape views are so beautiful and peaceful, it's hard not to love it just for the beauty.

Bangladesh's National Flower

Bangladesh's national flower is the Water Lilly which signifies the beautiful colours of the country from the various flower plants that grow. The country is filled with colour from beautiful trees, flowers and various animals, especially the world famous Bengal Tiger.

Water Lilly is also known as or called Shapla in Bengali. The scientific name of the national Bangladeshi flower is Nymphaea nouchali which carries a lot of history with it. The flower represents the many rivers that run through country leading into the Indian Ocean.

The Water Lilly, Shapla, is also part of an emblem that is used on national currencies such as on Taka notes and coins. This emblem was officially used from 1971 when Bangladesh gained it's independence from the rule of Pakistan.

The Water Lilly is a unique beauty of Bangladesh which grows on water on a floating plant. The roots of the plant is in the ground so the white Lilly flower only grows on shallow water.

Bangladesh Countryside

The Bangladeshi countryside is such an amazing view with the crops, houses and hills in the banckground. Above is an image with a cow and a house made out of straw in the foreground of an amazingly beautiful countryside.

The crops are rice farms which look nearly ready to harvest. the black and white cow is feeding on the crops which is hated by farmers as they want all the rice they can get out of their farms. They'll be running out in no time when they spot the cow and move it on to another field!

Bangladesh in a Nutshell

I hope you enjoyed this article about the beauty of Bangladesh which includes photos and videos. Bangladesh is a beautiful country with a great culture and great people who are very hospitable even though it is a 3rd world country.

Being the 8th most populated country in the world, Bangladesh is only a mere 56.977 square miles of land with a population of over 160 million people.

Bangladesh consists of four religions, Islam, Hindu, Buddhists and Christians with Islam being the major belief among the population. Christianity is only 0.5% of the population.

Ignoring the fact that there is political turmoil in Bangladesh, it is one of the Next Eleven Economy countries with major developments in human development, food production, manufacturing, export, gender equality and renewable energy sources plus many others.

Bangladesh is placed in a delta through the River Ganges follows through into the Bay of Bengal. It has three major rivers flowing the delta named Padma (Ganges), Jamuna and Meghna.

Most parts of Bangladesh is at risk of going under water if the sea level were to rise by 1m. There have been major floods in Bangladesh in the last two decades which have had devastating effects on peoples lives.

After all this, Bangladesh is a beautiful country which has lovely weather due to being near the equator. It is a country that will prosper in the future with it's natural beauty, beaches, lakes and mountains open to international tourism.
