Rajasthan “The Land of Kings”

Rajasthan, area wise, is the largest state of India, most part of which is covered by the Thar Desert. It has emerged as a great tourist place in india due to its great history and the natural beauty of the place. Some of the places to visit in rajasthan are the pink city (jaipur), the lakes on Udaipur, and the forts in deserted Jodhpur, jaisalmer and Bikaner. Rajasthan is most famous for the royal forts and the palaces.

Places to visit in Rajasthan

Jaipur-  Jaipur, located about 250 kms from Delhi, is the capital city of rajasthan. It is also known as the pink city because of the pink-painted buildings in jaipur. It has to be the first place to visit in rajasthan, which is famous for the Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, the Amber fort, sisodia rani ka bagh and the city palaces. Jaipur is also famous for the movie theatre Raj Mandir and for the shopaholics it is one of the best places to look around for the handicraft items and the semi precious jewelry.

Jodhpur- It is located about 250 km from Jaipur. It is also called as Blue City. Places to visit if you are in Jodhpur are the mehrangarh fort and umed bhawan palace.  It is known as the blue city for the blue painted houses near the mehrangarh fort. A thick stone wall surrounds the old city of jodhpur.

Jaisalmer- It is located about 275 km from jodhpur. Jaisalmer also known as the golden city is famous for the patwon-ki-haveli, jaisalmer fort, sand dunes and if you are in jaisalmer you must try the camel rides and safaris.

Bharatpur – Known for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park (Bird Sanctuary) is located about 175 km from jaipur and 185 km from Delhi. It also has old forts and museum

Chittaurgarh – It is known for the giant fort about 500 feet high and 3 mile in length. Located about 300 km from Jaipur and 110 km from Udaipur is also known for the Vijaystambha and Kirtistambha.

Mount Abu –located about 190 km from Udaipur. It is famous for Dilwara Temples, Guru Shikar and Nakki Lake. It is the only hill resort in Rajasthan.

Sariska is famous for the Tiger reserve Sanctuary. It is located about 110 km from Jaipur.

Ranthambore- ranthambore  national park and the tiger reserves are famous. It is located about 135 km from Jaipur.
