Born in 1957 or 1958 (reports vary) in Larnaca, Cyprus, Anna Vissi moved to Greece with her family while still a child when her mother saw her musical potential, deciding there would be more opportunities there.

She was right, and Anna became a huge star, diva, Greek Goddess.

She married rock composer Nikos Karvelas in 1983 and he helped her on the road to mega fame, starting with her change of image from that of a fresh-faced 'good girl' to a sexy modern pop star.

She later divorced Karvelas and for the past couple of years has lived with male model Kostas Fragolias, eighteen years her junior.
