The Best Island Paradises of the World
Have you ever wished you could be in a faraway island filled with coconut trees and little streams? Have you ever wished to be in a place where there is no traffic, noise or dust? Have you ever wished to be away from crowds, where the only sounds are those of the wind, swaying tree branches and seagulls?
There are many islands in the world which provide such an experience! These little paradises are tucked away from our busy, everyday lives and provide the perfect getaway to unwind!
If you were in the Galapagos islands or Seychelles, you could watch some of the biggest tortoises in the world. Some of these gentle giants are known to live for over a hundred years! On Easter Island, you could go back in time, exploring enormous stone figures that were built by a Polynesian society hundreds of years ago. In Bali or the Langkawi islands, apart from the pristine white sandy beaches, you could visit the numerous dense rainforest patches or quaint rice fields!
The Tortoises in Seychelles are Huge!
The Maldives, located in the Indian Ocean, is one of the lowest countries in the world. It is an archipelago noted for its numerous atolls and excellent coral reefs. The Bahamas, a larger archipelago of 700 islands and islets, was once mistaken for India by Christopher Columbus! It is one of the most prosperous countries in the Caribbean.
Perhaps the most exotic and calmest tropical island, however, is Bora Bora, which is part of the French Polynesian archipelago. It is filled with lush vegetation and dotted with quaint resorts. It is most famous for its over-the-water bungalows that have piers reaching out into the lagoon. It provides plenty of snorkelling opportunities to view magnificent manta rays in the mornings.
Here’s wishing you bon voyage to one of these gems of our planet!
