Top 3 Places In Nashville Tennessee To See

Updated on October 18, 2015

Gaylord Opryland

Gaylord Opryland is a must see no matter the time of year. During the holiday season however it is much more beautiful and is something that everyone should see at least once. During the months of November, December and January, there are millions of lights placed around the property for you to see. Also, they will offer a ICE sculpture activity known as ICE How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This can be an expensive activity for the family but will make your day that much more special. Also, outside of the ICE building you will encounter tubing, marshmellow roasting and of course, ice skating. This would be a great thing to do with the kiddos when on vacation and its even more special because its in the south where it hardly ever gets cold enough to be able to skate.

Opryland is a free activity however the added activities such as ICE will require payment along with the tubing, skating and roasting of marshmellows.

Nashville Shores Waterpark

The Nashville Shores Waterpark and Resort is open during the warmer months. Typically it will open its gates in the beginning of May for weekends and will open up full time for students and visitors during the Memorial Day Weekend.

There are cabins available for rentals and there are tent sites available to rent as well. The chalets that they rent out can hold a family up to six and might just be something you want to do if you want to stay in Nashville for a weekend while enjoying the waterpark. With the chalet rentals, you will get free admission into the waterpark. You could spend the day at the waterpark and shop or sightsee around town on the evenings.

Nashville Shores also is open for fall activities during the month of October for kids to enjoy different activities however the waterpark itself and its rides and attractions are closed. If you want to just see what the park look likes and want to spend just a few dollars, this might be the time to visit Nashville Shores.

Wildhorse Saloon

In the heart of Downtown Nashville is the Wildhorse Saloon and Bar. This is a must see for everyone who is in Nashville at least once. The bar is child friendly during the day and early evening however if you want to take in a concert, this might not be the place to take the children to.

Their concerts are probably some of the best and offer concerts from major name artists as well as local artists. Some of the people who have performed in the Wildhorse are Jason Michael Carroll, Billy Ray Cyrus are just a few. They also offer great concerts that benefit local charities and hospitals in the area throughout the whole year. One of the local hospitals who treats children is Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital and some of the benefits go to this hospital who help to treat children of all ages and that suffer from various medical conditions.
