Celebrities, movie cameras may be the hallmarks of present-day Los Angeles, but It is the second largest city in the United States. Los Angeles has a rich and varied history that extends far beyond the glitter of the silver screen. The city has abundant sunshine and a temperate climate attracts people from different places. Cuisine and fine dining are two more of the city's strengths.LA has such fantastic nightlife. Ultra-trendy bars and dance clubs are packed most nights. Los Angeles rewards visitors with a heaping helping of history as well as the nonstop energy and excitement. 1. Disneyland in Los Angeles

"Meeska-Mooska-Mic-key-Mouse" - The chanting starts on the tram before you can see the Disneyland gates. Picture-taking starts before people get inside the gates. The words over the entry tunnel read: "Here you leave today and enter world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy." It's Disneyland, and after fifty years, it's still the Happiest Place on Earth and one of the must-do things in Los Angeles.

2. Universal Studios in LA

Everything at Universal Studios Hollywood has a movie theme. These shows and tours feature Universal films. A theme park that grew out of a studio tour. Universal studios is the world’s largest and busiest movie studio. A lot of fun for all ages makes it one of the top things to do in Los Angeles.

3. Hollywood - Top Los Angeles Attraction

Hollywood Boulevard is the stuff of legends. Hollywood is one of the top things to do in all of Los Angeles, full of t-shirt and souvenir shops, the streets packed with gawping tourists snapping photos. It's also the home of the Walk of Fame, footprints at Grauman's Chinese Theatre and Hollywood at Highland shopping/dining complex. Beat time to visit hollywood is after mid-morning. During daylight hours, you get views and can enjoy the throngs of tourists. At night, the Boulevard is neon-lit.

4. Rodeo Drive

Beverly Hills popular Rodeo Drive could easily be considered a city by itself and one of the fun things to do in Los Angeles. Known as one of the world's more admired destinations, the name conjures up images of money, movies, moguls and mega-shopping. Rodeo Drive is at its best during the evening near Christmas, when lights and flowers decorate the streets, and the stores get more gussied up than their best-dressed patrons. The rest of the year, it's less crowded weekdays.

5. Venice Beach

Venice Beach is a desired destination for travelers from all over the world. It is unlike any place on Earth, well known for its artists, street performers and funky atmosphere. It is a virtual carnival running year round with free admission.Los Angeles kitsch and over-the-top culture at its best. Here you'll find Muscle Beach, street performers and tacky shops galore.

      Wish I had seen this last week, I was bored to tears in Long Beach. We were only there for a day, but we didn't know what exactly to do there. Great hub, I'm off to read part 2.
