Travel to Nevis-My Day Trip

Updated on November 21, 2016

Just to say you've done it !

When you want to get away from it all, do as I did and go to the island of Nevis. As somewhat of an adventuresome traveler I took a side trip there via boat from St. Kitts. As they say getting there is half the fun, I left St Kitts at 8;30 a.m. via the large boat that goes back and forth between both islands daily. Upon arriving on Nevis was greeted by the common brief island shower. Lucky enough for me I was able to stay dry and was able to make my way around the island by walking and cab. Lunch was at a wonderful restaurant on top of a hill overlooking the Carribean, a very private table near a rainforest. I have no idea how close or far away I was from the nearest phone ! The boat ride back to St Kitts was a bit more adventuresome, as the ocean tend to be a bit on the choppy side til you reach calmer waters. Upon returning to Basseterre at about 4 p.m. the local Carnival celebration was in full swing-what a way to end a great day ! St Kitts and Nevis make up the smallest independent nation in the Western Hemisphere, but what it lacks in size, its people make up for in spirit and friendliness.

Enjoy This St Kitts Video !
