Travel packing tips

Going on a family trip? Chances are you need a packing list template

We’ve all been there: cramming stuff into our much-too-small vehicle the morning of the big family trip; throwing in last minute items in our much-too-full suitcase, hoping we’re not forgetting the really important things. Packing is a necessary activity that not all of us enjoy (though some of us live for this organizing stuff). Have you considered keeping a vacation packing checklist for your family vacations, camping trips and other excursions involving the whole family? Since having kids, I’ve taken to using the internet to get ideas of what to pack. Most of these lists, sadly, are much too long and cumbersome for my liking and many lists are outdated. Some online/printable lists I’ve come across are gems and worth looking up. When I put together this packing list templste, I’ve focussed on keeping things simple and using updated, innovative baby/toddler products that are designed to take up much LESS space. But let’s be honest, travelling with kids means we will not be travelling light any longer.

Travel packing-Now how to pack all your stuff..

Everyone has their own packing system that works for them, and some have no system. I'm going to share a system that has worked well for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids under the age of 4.

Here are some highlights or tips:

1. Pack the baby/toddler stuff in the big suitcase.

2. Put all the baby stuff/toddler stuff that doesn't need to be accessible in the big suitcase:blankets, clothes, most books, baby monitor..

3. Pack larger items in stackable bins with lids and place these bins in the back of the vehicle

4. Pack ready-to-use accessible items in a small or medium sized stackable bin with a lid and place these bins near the front of the vehicle (where you can reach them).

5. Print list labels and tape them to the back of the bin lids-that way when you're packing up at the end of your vacation, you know what items go in which bin and you won't forget anything (hopefully)

This is an awesome list of items you compiled to pack when traveling with children. Every mom and family should have this. It will keep them focused and organized. Great Hub. Love the layout. Voted up and Pinned to my followers.
