Useful Spanish Phrases for Travel
In this hub I want to give you some basics of the Spanish language. A number of elementary phrases you could need to be able to communicate with the locals and enjoy a nice trip. It is important to point out that this particular language is really different depending on the country, or even the region inside the country, so you could find lots of words meaning different things in different places, and tons of words used a lot in one place that has no meaning in others –this is just an interesting fact. But the basics won’t change. You can use the phrases from this hub in every Spanish-speaking country. I tried to match as much as possible the literal translation with the most used ways to say or answer something.

Note: the sign (´) means that you emphasize that specific letter and it is used to differentiate words with the same spelling but with different meaning. The letter “ñ” sounds pretty much like the “gn” combination, as in “champagne”; it sounds very n
I recommend you to print this list before your trip and take it with you just in case. It might help you if you do not know/remember what to say, or how to pronounce it; you could even just point it on the list to the person you are trying to communicate with.
