Family Vacation to Las Vegas
Las Vegas, Nevada offers excitement to whoever sets foot on the Vegas Strip. There's so much to do and see, and only so much time to do it in.
This hub outlines a few of my favorite Las Vegas attractions. In 2008, I took a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. I was twenty years old, and this trip left me with many fond memories. I went along with my parents who were visiting on business, and we stayed at the Mirage Hotel. I had been to Vegas once before, at age fourteen (and stayed at the Stratosphere), but the second trip was more memorable due to my older age, my newfound ability to try out the slot machines, and the fact that I had been there prior and was excited to see more that the city had to offer.
The Vegas Strip is is an exciting place that will capture the attention of all ages. The main attractions we visited during our trip are outlined in this hub. If you are planning a trip to Vegas in the future, be sure to check out some of these places.
Take the Las Vegas Monorail

Take the Monorail and see the Strip.
Explore the Vegas Strip
While in Vegas, be prepared to do a lot of walking! The streets will get congested, and it may feel like a herd of elephants is crossing the street at each corner, when the traffic stops and the pedestrians have their turn. Relax, and take in the sights.
- Grab a bite to eat.
- Do some shopping.
- See some of Vegas's entertainment.
- Explore nearby hotels, such as the Venetian or Caesars Palace. Each hotel has different things to offer.
If you get weary, hop on the reliable, climate-controlled Monorail! Cruise along the Las Vegas Strip and go from one end of the strip to the other, all in less than 15 minutes.
Visit Caesars Palace
Visit Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino and embrace the beauty in the spectacular architectural structures inside and outside of the hotel.
Since the hotel was constructed in 1966, Caesars Palace has become one of the world's most popular destination resorts.
Modernized design techniques have been implemented into Caesars Palace, and they have stayed current throughout the years.

Caesars Palace offers:
- The Forum Shops: People come just to see the Forum. Some of the most famous restaurants in the world are located in this venue. It's not just a mall but a destination spot.
- A Rome theme exists at Caesars. The store fronts were designed to offer a realistic ancient Rome feel to them.
- Look up! The ceilings above have been painted to resemble the sky.
- A beautiful set of winding stairs connects the various levels of Caesars Palace.

Comments
I lived in Las Vegas several times (a little over a year total) and can attest the Strip AND Fremont Street ARE surreal, to put it mildly. One does NOT have to be a gambler to partake of the treasure trove of treats available. Of course, living there allows one the opportunity to explore and enjoy many delights tourists pressed for time never know about. And odd as it may sound, many residents never go near the Strip or Fremont unless friends or relatives come to town.
One suggestion I'd make, having been there as a tourist myself - to give a friend the Grand Tour - unless you only want your luggage to have a nice place to stay while you're there, don't waste your money on a room at a major hotel. Unless you're a real stick-in-the-mud, you'll hardly ever see your room except to shower and grab a few hours sleep. ;D
Loved ur hub! Full on info
I always used to watch Las Vegas in movies this time i am going to visit in June for the first time..it's my birthday going to celebrate with ma friends already booked everything through Yatra.com India's leading travel company .. going to have joyful Yatra!
I can't express how excited i am to visit Las Vegas! Thanks for your hub it helped me alot!
Interesting; and there's a lot of available hotel accommodations to suit every budget. Did you also go see the Hoover Dam? It's not too far away.
Hi Emily, I think Vegas is the town where nobody can sleep because it is SOOOOO bright. People walking down the strip at midnight have something in common with Alaska and Norway where you can see the sun 24 hours a day during the summer.
I am grateful that I don't feel the need to gamble because that leaves so many free things to do in the Hotels and around them. The food is inexpensive and the rates are usually modest because they want you to frequent their gambling rooms.
Thanks for the tour--I haven't been in a long time so maybe it will make a fun weekend. =:)
Wow...this was wonderful hub about Las Vegas. My biggest dream when I have a chance to visit USA is go to Las Vegas in person. I want to see Las Vegas as the city that never sleep, doesn't it. I really enjoy your report and all stunning pictures here. Thanks for share with us. Rated up (useful, awesome, beautiful, interesting). Take care!
Blessing,
wonderful post.
Very nice hub! Thanks for your photos and explanations about the various shows. I plan to get there one day and now have more ideas of what I want to see!
Hi emilybee!
Enjoyed this hub very much! I live in Northern Nevada and have visited Vegas a few times. My daughter is going there in two weeks, I'll be sure to have her read this! I'm a firm believer that everyone should see Las Vegas at least once. Voted up and useful!
I vote up and awesome! I have been to Las Vegas twice and you explain the main visitor attractions very well :)
Your vacation looks fabulous and I love the pictures. Awesome hub!
I love this hub! We went to Vegas on our honeymoon; stayed at the Stratosphere! Wow, it was awesome!
I do think a mention of Freemont Street would be a nice touch. Its really the only older section for tourists.
Voted up!
Hey emilybee. I haven't yet went to Las Vegas; personally I feel that Vegas is not an exciting and too important place to spend vacations with my family but through reading this I was wrong! I come to know for good and interesting places like Caesars Palace and Secret Garden to visit in Vegas. The Hub contain too expressive words, I like the way you write!
My husband has been begging me to go to Vegas and I just really didnt see how I could leave my kids to take the trip (I didnt think there would be anything interesting for them to do). Now I see I was wrong! They can go with us and we can make it a family vacation to Vegas baby! Thanks for this wonderful Hub :)
This is a really Great Hub! I've always wanted to go to Vegas but I wouldn't know what to do there. I would feel really out of place, I'm not a big gambler. I would like to see all the fancy hotels and lights.
