Disney's Magic Kingdom Attractions
Top Favorite Rides at The Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom opened on October 1, 1971 with a total of 107 acres of magical fun. It is just one of Walt Disney World's most popular and sensational parks.
Magic Kingdom is a wonderful place to visit for the whole family.Along with their attractions they also have a variety of restaurants, parades, fireworks and activities with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and all of the characters.
Their dining options include counter service, quick bite snacks, table service and character dining.Shopping is also available throughout the park for those unique Disney souvenirs.
The park itself is divided into six lands. When you enter the park you will find Main Street, U.S.A. which gives you a perfect view of Cinderella’s Castle.Great pictures can be taken at this time.Once you get to the end of Main Street you can either go left to Adventureland or right to Tomorrowland.
The six lands are Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Mickey’s Toontown Fair, and Tomorrowland.
Our top 12 favorite rides at Magic Kingdom are:
- Splash Mountain:A water thrill ride that takes you the guest, Rabbit, Br’er Fox, and B’rer Bear through a maze of waterways. You are seated in a hollowed-out log and enjoy singing along to zip-a-dee-doo-dah, a song based on the 1946 film Song of the South. It is located in Frontierland.
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: A mine train roller coaster that moves through the Old West and along the town of Tumbleweed. It is located in Frontierland.
- Space Mountain:An indoor thrill ride that begins in a sleek, rocket shaped three person vehicle. Most of the ride takes place in the dark with twists and drops throughout your ride.
- Haunted Mansion:Dare to enter this spooky ride, full ghosts, goblins and fun.Located in Liberty Square.
- Pirates of the Caribbean:This is one of our favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom.Redesigned to include Cap’n Jack Sparrow and Captian Barbossa from The Pirates of the Caribbean movies, you will take a ride through pirate battles, swashbucklers and sing along to “Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirates Life for Me”.Located in Adventureland.
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin:Go “To Infinity and Beyond” aboard a Star Cruiser and shoot targets with your own personal laser cannon.Located in Tomorrowland.
- It’s a Small World:This is one of the most unique and detailed rides at the Magic Kingdom. You’ll journey through all the countries of the world on a boat that caters to the whole family. There are more than 100 nations represented and the detail of each costume is spectacular. These unique dolls will have you singing along to It’s a Small World.Located in Fantasyland.
- Tomorrowland Speedway:Rev up your engines and take a ride on mini race cars around the Tomorrowland Speedway. We suggest that you get cars side by side so you can “race” one another. If your child is under 54 inches you can ride together.Located in Tomorrowland.
- Walt Disney World Railroad:The railroad is a steam engine train that circles the entire park. Along the way, the engineer gives you a bit of Disney history which is interesting. It also has stops at Frontierland and Mickey’s Toontown Fair.
- Peter Pan’s Flight:The Peter Pan’s Flight ride is rather short, but a must on our list.Seeing Never Land Island with such vibrant colors is a journey that puts a smile on your face as you recall why you love Peter Pan and Tinkerbell so much. This ride is located in Fantasyland.
- Prince Charming Regal Carousel:Set on one of their colorfully painted horses and gallop around this favorite carousel. No two horses are the same and there are different sizes for all ages.Located in Fantasyland.
- Dumbo the Elephant Ride:This ride is I believe is one of the most popular in all of Magic Kingdom.Similar to The Magic Carpets of Aladdin it has vibrant colors and is inspired by the Dumbo movie. The ride is for all ages and each party of two is seated in an elephant ready to fly in the sky.
