For some of us, summer has just gone by while for some, summer is around the corner. Regardless of where you are on the globe, we all face one common question "What to take to the beach in summer?" This hub is all about taking the right beach accessories that are useful and give you comfort and convenience during your time on the beach.

1) Your Beach Basket

You could need a cane basket on a beach for just about anything. From dumping dirty towels, carrying snacks, putting sunscreen bottles, newspapers or taking an extra set of clothes, this essential beach item is always handy. And don't just carry any basket. Make sure it's a special beach basket that adds to your sunny look!

2) Your bikini cover up or your sarong (for women only)

Okay here's the deal. You may have got into a perfect toned shape to flaunt your curves or abs on the beach but believe me, there will be a time when you will feel like covering up on the beach. It may be because of the sun or because you may want to walk into that classy pub by the beachside. Women should carry a bikini cover up or a sarong to the beach because it has a lot of utility value. A sarong or a bikini cover up is fashionable, protects you from the sun and will not let you feel 'naked' if you happen to walk in to a bar or a restaurant nearby the beach.

3) Your Amazon Kindle Fire

If you thought that reading a book while you were on the beach was either out of vogue or plain nerdy, you couldn't be more wrong. With Amazon Kindle Fire by your side, you're never too far from getting your hands on your favorite novel or favorite movie. Can you imagine how blissful it will be to sit on a beach chair, sip on some red wine and read up on your favorite book? There are fewer better ways to wind down either on a vacation or simply on a weekend trip to the beach. So ladies and gentlemen, regardless of which country or for how long you are going to the sunny beachside for, don't forget your Amazon Kindle Fire.

4) Your Camera

I've generally noticed that there are 3 kinds of people on the beach when it comes to carrying a camera. One, who are into photography and will be seen carrying their larger than life lenses around the beach and scouting for those award winning photographs. Two, people who carry those mini digital cameras who click away to glory only to hold on to memories or to put them up on facebook or twitter. Three, people who don't carry a camera at all. Which category do you fall into? Don't bother thinking because regardless of the category, I suggest that you must carry a camera to the beach. The memories will be priceless and will bring tears to your eyes when you look at the pictures after many years!

5) Your beach chair

You don't need to worry about a beach chair if you're heading off to a 5 star resort, but if you're going to your local beach or a secluded beach, a beach chair is a must. You may be the one to go swimming or surfing, but you'll love some quite moments spent on the beach, won't you? Whether you want to get a tan, or take a quick nap under the sunny skies, or just lie around watching the sights and sounds of the beach, a beach chair will be very useful.

Yep, summer's coming soon on the other side of the globe, Flora.

The sun's harsh over Australia too! Although there's a lot of awareness about sunscreen and other protective skin products. Maybe one day the doctors will come up with a magic cure and protection against the rays.

That's right Husky. It's one thing to walk into a shack on the beach wearing a bikini, but it's a different ball game when it comes to going to a swanky bar or a restaurant across the street. It'd be a weird feeling. Yet, many feel comfortable doing it. Bikinis are meant to be fun and sexy. Not weird. That's exactly why I've put a cover up or a sarong as a beach essential. Thanks for stopping by on this one!

Oh, yes, summer is coming soon for you in Australia. I don't trust the sun, so I'm not one for tanning-yet you can still enjoy the sun safely by keeping covered.

You have definitely included all the essentials for a nice day at the beach. And glad you included the cover up. Too many don't use them when they depart from the beach. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the wearing of a bikini, but I also appreciate modesty. There is a time and place for the bikini and it is meant for the beach, not going to and from or walking down the street. You have class!
