Winter in Ontario (photographs)

Updated on April 17, 2011

Since I posted photographs representing the fall season, I thought I would do the same with the winter season. Thus, here are some winter photographs taken by me in Ontario, Canada. I love this province! Enjoy and do let me know what you think of the few shots posted. Cheers!

      Greetings Mrs. Theresa,

I appreciate You taking the time to visit and leave a comment and I am happy You enjoyed the photographs. I must say, I was a little weary of the Bison ... big guy.

Cheers and all the best for the new year!

Beautiful photos! I love nature and wildlife, and would feel lost if I could not experience them daily. These photos bring them right into where I am right now. There is an immediacy to them__especially the one of the bison.

Thank you for sharing such wonder with us!

      Mr. Veitnamvet68,

My apology for not thanking You for taking the time to stop-by and comment sooner (21 months is pretty bad on my part, to say the least ...). I do appreciate the visit though: Thank You.

And thank You so much as well, for your visit and comment Mr. Spirit Whisperer! I truly love "mitakuye oyasin" (all my relations - in living form and otherwise). I believe that I am equal to all my animal cousins and I think many of them know that therefore, they do allow me to photograph them and I think some actually like to pose (lol).

I am happy You enjoyed the photographs - that was my intent when I posted them: for others to enjoy.

All the very best and Happy Celebrations! : )

These are wonderful photos and I am surprised at how the animals stopped and posed for you. You certainly have special powers to be able to do this. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much Mr. Micky. I love taking photographs and I love it even more when other people enjoy them as well. I am sure others take better photographs; I am just promoting Ontario in this blog as best as I can : )

Really beautiful photos - I'm envious! But not of the snow - I'm happy with the sun and the rain we're having right now!

      Love and peace

Mr. Wesman, thank you for your comment. The Buffalo do have a thick coat of fur - at least on half their body lol so I don;t think they feel the cold that much.

Mrs Darlene, I am not sure what a Burreo looks like so you might have seen one. I am not sure what those spotted small "deer"-looking like animals were.

And you are right about the elk ... in most circumstances, you do not want to approach a male elk. They are extremely territorial and they can be very vicious. I have different lenses and tricks up my sleeve. There are always stories behind every photograph. This is one of those times, where I have to say: "Don't try this at home kids. I'm a professional amateur" lol. Cheers!

Thank you for this winter wonderland. I so enjoyed it, did I see a wild Burreo? I was so surprised that that Elk would let you get that close to him, no wonder that get killed by hunters. Really awesome hub, I so enjoyed it. rate up love & peace darski

Love the wildlife! I didn't know that there were buffalo way up there in Canada. I'd probably think it was too cold to go outside till I lived there a bit. :-p

Thank you for stopping by Mr. Nextstopjupiter. All the best!

Mrs. Lynda, I do not think I can live in winter without snow. It would feel like I am cheating lol. Although, the screened patio and a coffee sounds great. Especially since I cannot open my balcony door because it is frozen shut. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment.

Mr. Amillar, indeed Nature makes me happy. I am a small part of it and I rejoice when I feel earth underneath my feet and not concrete. I often hide-away from humans but I never hide-away from any other animals. I feel at home in the forest (as my profile explains a little). Thank you for your comment. Cheers!

You're making me homesick. Canada is such a beautiful country -- all of it, and I've traveled and worked coast to coast. But on the other hand, here in Florida it's the end of January and I'm sitting on my screened in patio (lanai) having my coffee and checking out hubs on my laptop. No -- on second thought, I'll stay here. Lynda
