A Beach Vacation To The Carribean

Updated on June 17, 2014

Deciding Where to Go on a Beach Vacation

Have you ever wanted to take a beach vacation? Then you couldn't decide where you really wanted to go. You knew it was somewhere warm and sunny where you could work on your tan. Consider taking a cruise and visit several ports of call. You will be able to experience beautiful beaches and tours and discover place you may not have thought of before when planning a trip.

My husband and I recently took a seven day cruise to some very exotic places. The first being Cozumel, Mexico. There we spent a day at a wonderful beach resort at Playa Mia. We enjoyed a day of swimming and snorkeling at a private resort. We were free to take in the fun as well as an authentic Mexican buffet all included in the admission price.

We swam with the fish and savored out time observing underwater Mayan Ruins. It was and amazing adventure I am sure we never would have chosen as a vacation. There were 3 ports of call on our cruise with each being and exciting and unique as the first.

Fun Fun Fun!

Fun On The Ship

Rescue at Sea
Rescue at Sea

We had fun beyond the normal entertainment, we did a rescue at sea of a boat that had been adrift for 14 day. The coast guard came to our assistance to save 39 people who were taking on water in a small boat. The photo shows the coast guard coming to the rescue.

During the cruise we had a Spa stateroom complete with all the wonderful amenities. A couples hot stone massage was included in out package. It was seventy-five minute of pure bliss. Every muscle in my body was refreshed and relaxed by the skill kneading and warmth of the stones. Since all of the meals were included on the cruise we enjoyed meals in our room, at the buffet and in the formal dining room. Several nights were formal occasions and gave us the opportunity to dress in our finest attire for the evening.

We were looking for a unique vacation and this certainly fit the bill. Each day was more relaxing than the next. It was hard to believe that a vacation could be so stress free. There was plenty of entertainment on the ship a comedy club, theater, restaurants, shopping, and pizza parlor that was open 24 hours a day. We had swimming pools, water slides, and spa tubs located on most levels of the ship.

I Love Snorkeling!

Adventure After Adventure

Our 2nd port of call was the Grand Cayman Islands. There we took a boat ride on Captain Marvin's boat for a day swimming with Stingrays and snorkeling. What an adventure. The Stingrays were friendly and had been accustomed to human visitor. The place was a spot where for hundreds of year fishermen cleaned their catch and through scraps to rays. I actually held a Stingray and felt it's soft underside and picky topside.

Our 3rd port of call Jamaica was on a catamaran ride and of course another day snorkeling. Since my husband and I enjoy swimming with the fish we had another wonderful day. There were many other choices for excursions at each port, but since we both love to swim we choose snorkeling adventures. That day's cruise also took us to Famous Margaritaville on Montego Bay. It was an experience not soon to be forgotten.

If you have the opportunity to take a cruise, I am sure you will have a great time. Food, fun, and adventure. There is something for everyone.

Where would you or have you cruised? What was your favorite acitivity?

It sounds like you had a wonderful time on your Caribbean Cruise, I would like to go there but it probably won't be for some time yet.

Cynthia, welcome to HubPages! I'm glad that you enjoyed your Caribbean cruise, but you have to do another one. You're not finished until to come to my part of the Caribbean (the eastern part). Anyway, thanks for sharing your tour with us and including those videos. Good job! And I'm following because I like your titles. See you around.

We cruised the Caribbean (though a short cruise) and LOVED it! It is something I would certainly do again. I see people mentioning Alaska, we visited Alasaka and toured in an RV, unbelilevable. Anyway, this was a nice hub with lots of great photos!

      Voted up, useful, and interesting.

Our all-time favorite cruise was to Alaska. No cruise has ever compared. We lived in the Caribbean so we prefer the northern ventures now :) Looks like a great time though :)

I can see that this was a vacation full of fun and surprises. My husband has wanted to go snorkeling but hasn't been able to yet. Being kissed by a stingray has got to be one of the highlights of a lifetime I would think.
