Architecture and Gardens of Charleston, South Carolina

Updated on May 25, 2015

Gardens and Architecture of Charleston, South Carolina

The gardens and architecture of Charleston, South Carolina, carry the same beauty found in the Old English gardens of when Charleston, South Carolina, was settled hundreds of years ago.

When summertime fills the gardens around Charleston, accenting the historic facades and the beauty that Charleston is famous for, one can't help but feel privy to life as it was centuries ago. Cobblestone streets and open air markets invite you to enjoy a close-up of lifelong ago, even allowing you to stop and take a peek of what lies beyond the wrought iron gates.

Shall we take a walk around Charleston, South Carolina? I am sure you will experience at least some of the Southern beauty and hospitality. Charleston, South Carolina, was voted as the friendliest city in the South at one point. In my opinion, they have maintained and continue to deserve this recognition!

@CamelliaPenny: I'm so glad that you get to enjoy Charleston full-time! We love to visit and often wish we could make the move. Charleston has earned its place in many hearts! B : )

This is home, and I love it! It's beautiful year-round. In my adulthood, I've moved around and lived in other places, but knew by the time I was 30 that there was no place like home. I don't plan to leave again.

@SgtCecil: I'm afraid that Charlotte wouldn't come very close to Charleston as far as the beauty of old houses and waterfront. I do hope you may get a chance to visit! Just avoid the summertime; it's so humid! Thank you for stopping by! B : )

Another great lens with great pictures. The closest I've been to SC was Charlotte, NC! It looks beautiful though.

I hope to someday. Almost made it there on one trip but people chose Savannah instead. Both are beautiful cities.

Love Charleston [not so much in the summer, though :) ] Thanks for sharing a lens that brings both a lot of happy memories and dreams for the future!

Beautiful photos of Charleston, South Carolina. We love Charleston. My husband graduated from MUSC in 1956 and we try to go back at least once a year.
