WHY AM I DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH THE CITY OF ZADAR - World famous Sea Organ & Greeting to the Sun

I visited Zadar 3rd time in my life last year. And I deeply fall in love with this beautiful, romantic town. That happened immediately, I could not resist, angels and sirens of Zadar took me in their lap. Here is so many enchanting things... When I came back to capital of Croatia (Zagreb), I was dreaming about Zadar, wishing to live here, my hearth was full of burning desire for staying here, so finally I moved here in June. This town has very magical influence on me, I feel like this is my real home (I have also very practical spiritual connection with Zadar, I had here 2 radio shows about healing and spirituality).

I like old stone streets in the oldest part of town, I adore sit there and drink cappuccino, I adore sunsets in Zadar, romantic parks, rich colourful vegetation, islands, small and big, which are like pearls put in deep blue see, iI adore songs of crickets you can hear on warm days, but more then anything else, a adore new Sea Organ in Zadar.

Sea Organ are a part of Zadar's Riva, and basically the are differently shaped part of the coast which consists of several stairs that descend into the sea. The stairs extend for about 70 meters along the coast, under them, at the lowest sea-tide level, 35 pipes of different length, diameter and tilts were built in vertically to the coast and they raise aslant until the paved part of the shore and end in a canal (a service corridor). On the pipes there are LABIUMS (whistles), which play 7 chords of 5 tones. Above the canal there are perforated stone stairs through which the sound comes out, the air pushed by the sea.

When you listen divine song of waves and wind through organ pipes you feel so fulfilled, peaceful, happy, you just realize that human architecture and human mind CAN create astonishing peaceful and loving connection with the nature. In Sea organ nature is celebrated and highly respected in its glory. And here you just now that humanity will progress and one day live in love with all life on the Earth. Organs is place where people come by day and night to meditate, contemplate to heal their souls, every moment song of organ is a different, you here angles and sirens here....you can feel the pure endless love. During the day, you see gorgeous Adriatic sea, islands, game of light in the waves, seagulls, the most beautiful breathtaking sunsets in thousands of colours, during the night you can be connected with the whole universe...Imagine lights in darkness on nearby island,some boats in the silent night,stars on the Sky, while organs are playing with waves and inspiring your soul to fly in eternal waves of joy...

Sea Organ is constructed according to the project made by architect Nikola Bašić. In 2006 Croatian architect Nikola Bašić received the European Prize for Urban Public Space in Barcelona for his Zadar Sea Organ project, as the best among 207 candidate projects from across Europe.

After the world-known Sea Organs, Zadar has become wealthier with one more urban installation. At the very end of the Zadar peninsula, next to the famous Sea Organs, shines the Greeting to the Sun made by the same architect Nikola Basic..

The Greeting to the Sun consists of three hundred multi-layered glass plates placed on the same level with the stone-paved waterfront in the shape of a 22-meter diameter circle. Under the glass conduction plates there are photo-voltage solar modules through which symbolic communication with nature is made, with the aim to communicate with light, just like the Sea Organs do with sound.

Simultaneously with the „most beautiful sunset in the world" the lighting elements installed in a circle turn on, and, following a particularly programmed scenario, they produce a marvelous, exceptionally impressive show of light in the rhythm of the waves and the sounds of the Sea organs.

The photo-voltage solar modules absorb the sun energy and then transform it into electrical energy by releasing it into the distributive voltage power network. It is expected for the entire system to produce around 46.500 kWh yearly, being, actually, a small power plant from which energy will be used not only for the Greeting to the Sun installation, but also for the lighting of the entire waterfront. This energy will be three times cheaper than the actual one, and the project itself is a unique example of connecting the use of renewed energy sources, energy efficiency and city space arrangement.

The Greeting to the Sun installation, as a model of the solar system with its appertaining planets, is connected to the Sea Organs whose sound is transposed into a show of light that starts performing on the Zadar waterfront after sunset. In creating the lighting effects, the installation is able to receive other outer, spontaneous impulses through modem connection, while the lighting pictures adapt to different occasions.

Here you can walk, sit, meditate, play the game called: CATCH THE LIGHT...and run around like child... While being here you feel healing energies, coming from the solar energy, you heal while watching colours and light pictures which are tenderly changing every now and one. And you connect with the Sun, and Moon and stars...while listening Sea organ play its divine song, nearby. Amazing experience in quiet nights....Afterwards, you can feel only strong desire to come back again.

I have spent many nights and days on Zadar´s Riva, in contemplation and meditation. I have travelled a lot around the Europe, but here is so enchanting, so innovative, such divine architecture has been created in combination with beautiful romantic parks and long promenade, so I can say that Zadar now has the most special and most spiritual Riva in the world. It is the work of angels through human mind. Come here and enjoy, you will never forget this.

Here in Zadar, Light and Love in everything is respected, as well as the idea that architecture needs to serve and adore the beauty of nature. I am more than proud, that this ideal is reached here and that divine songs in sea organs combined with light effects influence so many people who come here. This is the inspiration for people of the all world, how to build and create their sorrundings, so everyone can enjoy and re-connect with the forces of nature...
