Most Relaxing Beach Vacation in Jekyll Island Georgia

I am a huge fan of beach vacations. There is just something about being near the ocean that is so peaceful. Beaches are great for collecting seashells, swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying wildlife. One of my favorite beaches in America is called Jekyll Island Georgia. I ended up spending time here quite by mistake and find myself always wanting to return. Jekyll Island is best known for its wild sea turtle population. While walking along the beaches you will see signs pointing out where the nests are, and you can actually see the little holes where the baby turtles have left the sand (awwwww).

We are from the northeast, so this is actually a Pitstop to Florida. This pristine nature preserve is on the Atlantic Coast. No white sandy beaches here, but the nature is so beautiful and undisturbed. I was able to check dolphin sighting off of my bucket list, and it was so close I could touch it. We stay at the Hampton Inn, the pool there is great, and the walk to the beach is amazing.

The water is as warm as bath water, and I always travel to the south in the summer, so the temperatures are often in the 90's. However it is refreshingly cool outside due to the beautiful atlantic breeze. This picture was taken in June of this year.

You will not find any chair rentals or tiki bars on the beaches of Jekyll Island, so do pack wisely.

Nothing, well that is my favorite thing to do while on vacation. There is a water park on the island if you have children. I really just enjoy walking on the beach, there are some great places to eat. My best tip is: Get up early and walk the beach. It is so quiet, and the dolphins come so close that you can practically touch them. This was the highlight of my entire vacation. We stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites, which has the same amenities as any other hampton inn, but they have rooms with balconies, and it has a very old French Quater feel to it.

I love it! It is the most beautiful, natural, and relaxing place that I have ever been. The people are amazing, the hospitality is beyond comparison and you will find yourself longing to return. I hope that you have a chance to visit someday.
