Marine Drive

Marine drive is a public walk space facing the Arabian Ocean expanded to 3.6 km in south Mumbai. It is a popular place to hang out in Mumbai. The best time to visit there is early morning or in the evening. It is an ideal place to go for a morning walk and evening walk. You will meet many people jogging there at those times.

You can enjoy the experience of one of the old and famous beach. I.e. Girgaon chaupaty( A Marathi word for beach).

You can relax on the sea-facing seating space and can enjoy the cool breeze there. You can just forget about all your stress and enjoy the view there. It is open to people every time, and there is no free for accessing this place. You can spend the full evening there or can stay up late in the night or the whole night if you wish so. The sunset and sunrise views are awesome from there.

It is in a walkable distance from the church gate railway station. Some great eateries are there around it. You can try one of them for a fine dining experience

Gateway of India

It is one of the trademark places in Mumbai. It is a historic monument and an elite tourist attraction. They built it in the 20th century to welcome the British King and Queen (King George V and Queen Mary) on their first visit to India. It is a well-visited tourist attraction, and lots of people come to see this every day. You can visit there any time of the day, but an evening here with your friends and family can be a great idea. You can take a ferry ride from here to elephant caves and Mandwa.

One can reach there by a 15 minutes cab ride from the Church gate and CST railway station. The famous Taj Hotel of Mumbai is located just next to the gateway of India. It is also a major tourist attraction point. Lots of great restaurants are available around there. You can enjoy the delicious dinner there

You must try the kabab at Bademiya When you are there at gateway Of India

Bandstand Beach and Fort

It is a rocky beach and a walkway of around 1.2 km long. It is a good place with jogging tracks, a park, and the Bandra fort at the end. The British built this fort around 1675. The panoramic view of the Worli sea link is wondrous to watch from the fort.

It is located in Bandra West, around 20 min away from Bandra station. It is a great place to spend time with friends. The food choices are not too much around the place. But one can enjoy a verity of Mumbai street food there.

Especially the Bhutta (Fried Sweet corn) and “chana jor garam” (chickpeas that are roasted and spiced) are must-try street foods.

Juhu Beach

It is a well-known and most visited place in Mumbai. It is the longest beach in Mumbai and good to take a walk around there. Unlike Bandstand, it is a sandy beach, and you can go into the water there. It is also famous for the mouth-watering street food that they serve there. There are lots of stalls to choose for verities of street foods. Some famous street foods are as below.

  • Paw Bhajji
  • Panipuri
  • Barf ke gole

Aksa Beach

It is another famous beach in Mumbai to spend quality time. It is a great destination for a weekend outing as you can rent a cottage around there. It is much cleaner than the other beaches in Mumbai. It is mostly a sandy beach. But I do not suggest swimming there, as the current is very strong there.

It is located in the Aksa village of the Malad suburb. It is accessible from both Malad and Borivali station. It is also well known for the verity of seafood. The restaurants here serve a good fish meal. You must try some good fish like

  • Bangda(Indian mackerel)
  • Surmai (Indo-Pacific king mackerel)
  • Pomfrets

I’ll suggest testing the Pomfrets fry here.

Essel World

Essel World/Water Kingdom

It is a bonus place in addition to the above places. Essel World and Water Kingdom are the two private theme parks for adventure and water spot activity. It is a great idea to visit there with family and kids. Kids will love the pace very much. Essel World is an amusement park with lots of adventure activities like adventure rides, ice skating, horror house, and Mirror maze house.

The Water Kingdom has all the amenities for water rides. A day tour there with family is worth it. You get ample time to have fun and refresh yourself.

This place is located slight outskirts of Mumbai. One can go there by taking a ferry from Gorai, Borivali West or Marve, Malad west.

There are no fees needed to visit the above places except Essel World and the Water Kingdom. These two are privately owned property, and you have to pay the entry fee to go inside.
