According to Mughal history construction of Taj Mahal was begin in 1632 when beloved wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan died. Shahjahan decided to build Taj Mahal in memory of his wife. Construction of white marble building completed in several years.Renovation of outside area and gardens took further five years.
Thousand of labors took part in construction of Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal design and construction inspired with Persian architecture and earlier Mughal architecture. White marble widely used in construction of Taj Mahal. Despite long span of time building is still in good condition government is also trying to save building from raising pollution and surrounding environment.

Despite government best efforts increasing pollution, water of Yamuna river has become big threat for Taj Mahal survival. Due to increasing pollution white marble of Taj Mahal is now turning in to Yellow. Due to water level in Yamuna river cracks are appearing in some structures of Taj Mahal.
