Dubai is a starting point to visit the neighboring emirates or the Sultanate of Oman. Renowned for gigantism, shopping and rediscovering tradition, or for luxury and more peaceful pace of life, Dubai is constantly changing. Dubai is a work in progress. Futuristic buildings rise from the desert, highways soar out of sight, and at night the cranes illuminate the sky.

In Dubai, imagination and wealth allied limitless. The oil windfall has made ‚Äč‚Äčthis arab country very rich, Dubai is a demonstration of excess. Islands shaped like palm, the most luxurious hotels in the world, a ski slope in the heart of desert, and the tallest tower in the world that is more than 800 meters high!

New buildings and locations of new infrastructure earn the sea; indeed also the islands reclaimed from the sea, it was decided to return to the Persian Gulf in the desert, to provide a second shore at the southern part of the Emirate.

The Emiratis represent less than 10 % of the city Dubai population. The rest of population consists of expatriates from around the world. Over 200 different nationalities live there: they are Lebanese, Burmese, Pakistanis, Afghans, Indian... Etc. Dubai is a mixture of cultures living together in relative peace. The official language is Arabic but English is spoken almost everywhere.

Attractions in Dubai

Dubai offers an image of shopping, luxury, futuristic architecture. But it also has a natural and cultural heritage to discover. Landscapes, coastlines, cities, flora and fauna, are as attractive as the arab culture, people courtesy, tolerant and welcoming.

Under landscapes, must see the oasis of Al-Ain, the desert, the oasis of Liwa, nature of Sharjah. On the coast, visit the lagoon of Khor Kalba, Island Siniyah, Jumeirah palaces, the Abu Dhabi corniche, the palm islands of Dubai, Sharjah coast. For flora and fauna, it is the hawks and the reserve of Sir Bani Yas.

On arts and culture, visit the Hatta Heritage Village, Dubai Museum, the Julfar site, Museums in Sharjah. Activities and recreation are however the Ski Dubai, Dinner submarine Cruise on the Creek, the proposed activities in Sharjah.

Shopping for souvenirs can be done at festivals or at Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
