On the road - with dogs!

Over the river and through the woods, along with our dogs, we go.....

Those of us who "do stuff" with their dogs, whether it's taking the dog along on family outings, training, or one of the myriad dog sports out there (rally, obedience, agility, flyball, disc dog, dock dog, etc.), know it's never as simple as grabbing the leash and running out the door with your dog. There's always stuff - lots and lots of stuff.

The things we carry for our dogs

  • Leash and collar
  • Treats (for training and rewards)
  • Water (for you and your dog)
  • Toys (for attention and recreation)
  • Seatbelt (or crate) to secure your dog
  • First Aid Kit (for people and dogs)
  • Clean-up bags

Safe and stylish collar and leash

The Rope Collar by Timberwolf is guaranteed not to cause any chafing or irritation. It's the perfect everyday collar for our little dogs. The solid nylon rope adds an elegant simplicity and the side-release plastic buckle is curved, not straight, so it follows the contour of our dog's neck.

Toy Temptations Treats

Each flavor of Toy Temptations treats from DogChewz NYC is healthy and delicious. Organic, natural and yummy, these treats are perfect for our little dogs! I've tried them too, and they're really good! Each tiny treat measures just one inch and is easy to break into even smaller pieces. I always keep a bag of treats on hand in my car - rewards for good behavior! My dogs' favorite flavor is the Bacon Parmesan - although they think the Apple Cheddar is pretty swell, too!

Popware Collapsible Bowl

Collapsible Bowl

With the Collapsible Bowl your dog can share your bottle of water! Just pop it open, fill it, when your dog's done, empty it, collapse it, shake it dry and hang it anywhere with the quick-release clip. Available in two sizes and three colors.

Car Seat Carrier

Take your little dog anywhere you go! Just pop her in the Pet Gear Car Seat Carrier and strap the Carrier in with the seatbelt! Mesh windows are on all four sides, plus the top. Zippered openings are in front and on the top of the carrier. There are two pockets on the back - one mesh pocket for a water bottle and one snap pocket, for treats, keys, clean-up bags or other essentials. Two comfortable carry handles are on the top. The floor is solid and the carrier comes with a soft fleece pad. The bottom even has feet to keep the carrier slightly off the ground!

Toys are great dog-attention getters!

The Fleece Tug Toy measures 13 inches long and 3 inches wide. There's a big knot in the middle to gnaw on, and a squeaker at one end. It's light enough for even a little guy to fetch, carry and tug. There's no stuffing, so there's one less worry for you!

Seatbelt and walking harness

The VestHarness is a versatile walking harness that doubles as a car seat belt harness! It also provides great protection for your small dog's chest. The straps on both sides of the tummy piece are adjustable, and there are side release clasps on both sides. Just open one side, slip the VestHarness over your little dog's head, put one paw through the opening and fasten the clasp.

Clean-up

The Clean-up Bag Dispenser is the one item that every dog owner needs for those necessary walks. The Dispenser is a light-weight fabric barrel which holds a roll of matching plastic bags. A sturdy opening in the barrel dispenses one bag at a time. A zipper in the top allows you to insert a new roll of plastic bags.

Nice lens! I take my dog with me everywhere. Come over and look at my lens and see the photos there of Maggie.

I've not traveled with dogs, but thought of traveling with our cats. I'd say you are definitely in your element with your Element! ;)

We have traveling with our dogs down to a science. Though it seems I do spend more time packing and catering to them them myself...hoho. They love going on the road and exploring new places! We all need a change of scenery.
