At age 16 took a last-minute opportunity to study overseas for the whole Junior Year of High School. I spoke French, but the only spot happened to be Northern Germany. I departed six weeks later though I didn't speak the language.    I learned independence, practiced critical thinking, and discovered how much I loved teaching myself anything and everything (being autodidactic). That was a crazy year... I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Skipping a year of the "core curriculum" didn't hinder me, I won the Arthur Holly Compton Physics Essay competition shortly after my return.

The scholarship paid my way into the College of Wooster where I began studying Physics as Compton Scholars are expected to do.

I returned to Germany the summer of my Senior year with a lot of faith and a few hundred dollars (not enough for a return trip). I found work in Bavaria earning room and board by cleaning military hotels. It was the best summer.

After graduating with Honors, my Liberal Arts degree and lifelong learning ethic helped me accomplish career milestones in Automotive Engineering for over a decade- mainly consulting for "The Big 3" and their major suppliers all over the Midwest and beyond. Lots of travel!

I've been able to return to Europe many times on business working for French and German Companies, but raising two kids made traveling not so fun.

Being planted behind a desk in one Factory brought stability -too much! My sanity was kept by volunteering my time doing research to solve the problems of those around me. Suddenly, I was on to something.

I founded a non-profit to combat Multiple Sclerosis based on my research, which led me to leave Employment to focus on on a few inventions and innovations that combat enigmatic diseases. It made sense for me to start my own Company "Rayminder Engineered Lighting" to make and market these products.

As I'm launching Rayminder, I've found more hours in the day than I've had in a long time. I began writing to promote my non-profit and the Android App I developed to combat Multiple Sclerosis.
