How to feel better on a bad day

Updated on August 14, 2009

Feeling good is Important

Sometimes we all have bad days. Today has been one of those for me. I woke up with my thoughts circling unhappy memories. I made up my mind that I should write a hub page, part two of my memoir actually and give the day that purpose. (I will attach the links at the bottom of this page just in case you want to have a read.)

Not 10 minutes  after eating breakfast I got a call from inland revenue regarding fees for late paperwork with the business. We were able to get the accountant on to it and our reasons for being late include a bad back with sciatic nerve damage so its going to be sorted just fine, no real need to panic. First thing in the morning tho was a bad time to get that sort of call, it kinda knocked the legs from under me emotionally speaking.

When days start off so poorly sometimes the first thought is to go back to sleep for an hour. I got up on the wrong side of the bed, maybe if I try again I will get it right the second time. When you just cant go back to bed or going back to bed doesn't work what can you do?

Since I needed to pull myself out of a funk today I decided to write this page and share some of what I find works. The first thing to try is to look at recent successes or accomplishments. Shall I go first? Alright, my big one is that I have finally had 2 clicks with adsense and one amazon click (no sale tho so I don't get paid from it, but still a good sign). It is not about the money, that is only £0.22 earned so far, its the hope and potential it shows for my hub pages.

One of my favorite things to try when I am just not shifting out of a funk is to go for a walk. With the black berries being in season I adore going to the park and snaking on wild black berries. The fresh air and calm weather can sometimes help clear my head and help me refocus my thoughts on more positive aims instead of grumpy grumblings.

While I was waiting for the weather to clear up a bit I tried putting some comedies on and I plan on watching some more with a nice home cooked dinner. Laughter is the best medicine as they say! Lets not forget music either, a good beat or beautiful voice can help get your heart beating faster and pumping that blood around your body. Music is a great way to energize yourself and sometimes thats what you need most.

How well your body is functioning can make a big difference in how well your feelings are effected by these efforts. A slow and depressed pulse often will be reflected in your mood so trying to listen to your body is vital. Food and drink are vital. Your body needs healthy foods and drink to function efficiently, what you eat will make a difference to how you feel.

My last thought on what you might try is something that might help others. The feeling of satisfaction of a good job well done, and the pride of thinking your efforts might be useful for someone will at least keep your head above water so to speak. Last thing that I can say is that just because today was a dud doesn't mean that tomorrow wont pop and sizzle with good feelings and inspiration.

If you have any suggestions or ideas I would love to hear em, so leave em in the comments ta.
