How Are Editor's Choice Hubs Doing?

A 9-Month EC Update

Many of you have been waiting patiently to see what will happen with your Hubs that have been awarded the Editor's Choice accolade. Paul Edmondson has kindly provided an update on the program to date in his latest Blog Post. Here's the gist: there's still a lot of variability in the program, and some Hubs that have been awarded EC have grown a great deal of traffic, and others have lost some. In aggregate, EC Hub traffic is up about 2% over non-EC Hubs, but we think it may take up to 2 years to see the full benefits of the program, traffic-wise. We still have plans to promote EC Hubs further on HubPages as well, and we hope you'll stick with it (or consider opting in if you've previously opted out).

Editor's Choice Hub Qualifications

If you'd like to be part of the EC program but have not yet had any Hubs chosen (or if you have, but you'd like a few more), here are a few tips on writing Hubs that stand a fighting chance of being selected:

• Always shoot for Stellar Hubs.
• Be sure your Hub is on a subject that is not already widely covered online. There are thousands of articles on chocolate chip cookie recipes, making it much less likely that yours will be chosen, even if it's wonderful.
• Follow the Style Guide. Be sure you heed any Style Tips that appear in the HubTool while creating your Hub.
• Use high-quality images.  Make sure there are no blurry or pixelated images in your Hub whatsoever. One very bad-looking image can ruin an otherwise good Hub's chances.

If you think your Hub (or someone else's Hub) fits the qualifications and want to make sure we see it, you can nominate it for an Editor's Choice award in the form above the Hub of the Day in your Feed. You can nominate as many Hubs as you want, but users who repeatedly nominate their own low-quality Hubs will have their future nominations disregarded.
