Why not spring clean your Hubs?

Updating Your Hubs for 2015

How to Spring Clean Your Hubs

Spring is right around the corner, and while you're thinking about spring cleaning, it's a great time to start thinking about spring cleaning your Hubs as well. Here's a quick checklist that can help you get started:

  1. Check for excessive products. Would your Hub stop making sense or be less useful without the products you've added? If not, they've got to go!
  2. Check for unrelated links and products. Are all products and links directly related to your Hub's title and subject? If not, they've got to go!
  3. Check for outdated information. Is everything in your Hub up to date? Make sure to correct any out-of-date info in your Hub.
  4. Check for new information. Have there been any new developments or discoveries related to your Hub's topic? Consider adding additional content that reflects the latest info.

Yikes, where should I start?

Which Hubs Should You Fix Up First?

We know many Hubbers have tens (or even hundreds) of Hubs and that fixing them all up is no small feat. That's why it's so important to prioritize your valuable time on the Hubs where it will do the most good. Here's a helpful list of which Hubs to start with in order of priority:

  1. Focus on the Hubs with the highest traffic. Since these Hubs get the most visitors, they have the greatest opportunity to help (or hurt if they aren't fixed up in time) your entire subdomain.
  2. Focus on your Hubs with violations or warnings. Fix these Hubs up ASAP, especially if they have high or moderate traffic. They may be in danger of becoming unFeatured.
  3. Focus on the oldest Hubs. These Hubs are most likely to need content updates, and will probably need some tweaks to make sure they follow the current best practices for online writing.
  4. Focus on Featured Hubs. Your unFeatured Hubs are likely to be the Hubs that need the most work, but they are probably not hurting you much, so you have all the time in the world to get to them. Improve your Featured Hubs since they are seen by Google and by search visitors.
