Network Site Spotlight: WanderWisdom

While the circumstances of the past year and a half have made non-essential travel risky for many, vaccinations have some people eyeing flights, train rides, and road trips once again. If you're thinking about taking off on a well-earned adventure, don't forget to head to WanderWisdom and type your destination(s) into the search bar to find tips, recommendations, and more by fellow authors in the HubPages network. They've been there, they've done that, and they've created guides and trip reports to help you make the most of your exploration.

Furthermore, since we're all writers here, why not bring a camera and a notebook on your trip so you can capture some scenes and jot down some notes to turn into an article when you get back? When your article is finished, submit it to WanderWisdom for consideration! For tips on travel writing, check out this article by PS Tavishi on Owlcation.

Pro Tips

Paragraph Length in Web Writing

When reading an essay or novel, it is extremely common to come across a paragraph comprising six to eight sentences. When it comes to articles on the internet, however, shorter paragraphs are preferable.

Most online readers view content on their smartphones, and smartphones have relatively small screens. Long blocks of text often appear overwhelming on smartphones, while shorter paragraphs make content easier to navigate and digest.

When it comes to web articles, two to three sentences is probably the ideal paragraph length for most readers. Of course, longer paragraphs are sometimes necessary, and quality should not be sacrificed for brevity or appearance, but keeping your paragraphs short, well-ordered, and digestible is a good way to keep readers on your page for a longer time.
