Cat ear mites, are basically ear mites that are in cats. They can be transferred to other animals, even dogs and humans, although both more unlikely than cats. You can tell if a cat has ear mites because there will be a brown crumbly material in their ear, the mites will be white. They do not burrow, they just live in the ear canal. If you think your cat has it, take it to the vet, they will clear out the ear canal, and give you ear drops for your cat. Apparently guinea pigs and ferrets also often get these.
I totally agree with Angella. I have two cats and one had ear mites this past year. One of the first signs of mites. Your cat will shake its head a lot, also you will see your cat use its paws to try to wipe or scratch it's ears. Take it to a vet and yes, they will inject the cat with a serum that kills the mites. They will inject it just between both ears on it's head. You will see a big improvement.
We had a kitten that had these. We took her to the vet and they treated her with drops. http://www.howtodothings.com/pets-and-a … mites.html
